Yeah its crazy how much filament they go through with the purging. Thats where you start to lose economically and start saving if you do lots at a time, good tip. I was watching a bumbu purge ona live stream and it seemed excessive, but i heard you can dial that in the slicer. When I changed filament manually i just pushed until the last coluor was through, it seemed faster and less waste then what the automatic thing does but each colour is different i suppose, so it depends. Would be nice for an AI to watch the colour change and stop as soon as its good for less waste, but if you really want to save on waste you go with a tool head changer. And Prusas already got one so thats a reputable company already onto that idea. Maybe more money up front but should save you in filament in the long run. You could get into recycling filament, theres a youtuber that does that in his business but even then is only able to use like 15% of it in a mix, its not strong enough on its own i think is the deal, he didnt really explain why. Anyway that still wont give you gradients, thats the next nut to crack, mixing colours. Theres already an inkjet colouring solution, just add an inject catridge and coluor as you go, but its pretty washed out not the best,but..its getting closer to the holy grail, full colour laser colour prints, then people will be like these are boring , and the older imperfect prints will go up in value, you watch... in the far future these ugly benchies will be worth money when everything is perfect.
