I've been crippled for 7 years now. I train a few minutes every day in my own special way! I love youtube which has introduced me to tens of thousands of styles of martial art. I love tai chi and really, all martial arts. I was lucky and learned silat and escrima in college. I consider myself one of the luckiest people alive today. One of my favorite practices is to stand for ten seconds and then step in the 8 directions. Every time I walk or stand I think of my friend who is in a wheelchair. I live with other cripples and old folks with dementia.

Yes. My knees are in so much pain. I work in a hospital and see many many more folks worse off. So instead of complaining I'm grateful. Thank you for your wisdom.

Thanks for the footwork lesson. I tried to incorporate this into my double stick drills but I am having a lot of trouble with my coordination. I can do the five essential double stick drills standing still but when I try to do the footwork patterns with the stick drills I get all tangled up. Can you please make some vids teaching drills to help with coordination of footwork and stick and knife patterns.

keep practicing.. in Sinwalli the stick is always practiced with the footwork.. they are not separate. Slow down if you need to but work them together

Essentially, I'm training to kill my opponent, disable him permanently. Therefore, it is imperative there is absolutely no Ego at stepping backwards away from compromising situations or even attacks. It might be shocking to those outside MPA there is such Inconveniences of Ego.
