I took an escrima stick class and learned the basic drills recently. To be honest these are the weapons I’ve really wanted to learn. The double stick drills and the single stick open hand techniques. Getting sticks and my instructor is going to start teaching me. Even as exercises, the sticks are fun.

I learned stick fighting quite some time ago. Instead of focusing on hitting the partner's stick, we aimed for parts of the body, so on the one side, you try to hit, for instance the partners side of his head, which he blocks that strike with his stick. same for other regions of the body. So, while doing those routines, we learned defense as well as offence.

@mcanastacio4 жыл бұрын
Ankara Ballew actually.. they’re referred to as baston, olisi, garrote , etc. depending on the dialect and origin of the system. Escrima is a term used to describe the art that comes from the Filipino version of a Spanish word for fencing. Along with Kali, Arnis and many other names. Yes, they are indeed very fun.
