I remember finding your blog on the net in like 2013/2014. It has been bookmarked and returned to year after year for scenery ideas. Yours is the best website I had found for tutorials, with so many amazing ideas (like the tobacco leaves as fungus, or acupuncture needles for arrows). I can’t believe I never thought to search you on KZbin but super glad I came across you like 9 years later haha. Amazing work man, your creativity is incredible.

Thank you so much for this great content! I like to super glue things in place, but i also use an alcoohol/water wash over everything followed by a PVA/water/washliquid-drop mix carefully put over the composition to seal everything in place (its very solid, even with very small and fragile pieces of soil)
@ROMANLAPPATMINIATUREART Жыл бұрын
Make senses, thanks for your input to the topic. I have to admit I never do any additional things than superglue. Thank you, again I learned something!
@maximebemer3407 Жыл бұрын
@@ROMANLAPPATMINIATUREART precise recipe is 1:1 mix isopropyl alcohol and water, you put drops all over (gently) 1:1 mix of PVA glue and water, 1 drop of washliquid, apply it very gently with a pencil on the prvious mix, just enough to have this flowing inside (like an oil wash flowing freely in recesses) Let it dry, and nothing will move!

I have two types of super glue in my toolkit. One a thick gel by Gorilla Glue and the other is a very thin, fast drying super glue. When adding soil to your gaming base/display base, which one do you recommend? I could see using a tooth pick to spread the gel super. I have been adding ultra thin super glue over the soil which makes it dry rock hard. It does not have the look I am going for. I came across your video and I am considering a different approach.

4:49 Surely that's not CA on a toothpick which you repeatedly put in your mouth??????!!! 😆
@ROMANLAPPATMINIATUREART Жыл бұрын
No, it is not :D ... one side is the glue side, the other one is used for spit to pick up tiny material. Do not mix up the ends though, been there, done that :D
@alessiodecarolis Жыл бұрын
CA glue is very useful, but PVA glue, slightly diluited, it's very important to seal the whole base's assembly, expecially if there are organic parts, such as roots or leaves, dried coffee powder mixed with cheap acrylic paint is a good base for terrain.

"Know your tools, have them close" isn't as helpful as actually explaining which tools one would commonly use, specially if you don't have room for industrial stationary tools. You also show some material that you take apart and make smaller pieces, but you don't mention what it is. This video was much more high level than i hoped from a perspective of someone looking to start tinkering with bases.
@Don_Giovanni Жыл бұрын
I totally get you, but to be fair, the title says pro tips and not "how to get started with basing"
