Took a weekend trip down to the Texas coast recently and fell in love with the sanderlings there. I could easily spend the whole day watching them.

When I lived near the water I used to love watching these birds running on the beach. It was entertaining to watch them doge the waves and the way they run so cute. The calms were interesting to watching them bury themselves in the sand, that was great demo thank you.

I have often watch the sea birds form the beach or rocky outcroppings here in Connecticut. Sanderlings dodging waves to find food are fun to watch. Thank you for featuring them. Have a Merry Christmas!

Have you ever been to Tybee Island, GA? It’s a small residential island 12 miles outside Savannah, population around 2,500, and in summer it’s a tourist haven, but winters are great. There’s another uninhabited (by people) island, Little Tybee, where there’s wildlife and sea life to watch. You have to go out by boat, can put up a tent if you like. It’s very cool!

@@natureatyourdoor you have to look on the south end of the beach in the evening . The jetties past the pier sometimes have starfish on them when the tide goes out. I’ll have to show you my baby green heron photo. He was very angry at me for bothering him, lol.

Always enjoy your videos! I am on the Gulf (Bay, actually) of Carrabelle, FL. I'm interested in the long black centipede looking creature in your intro as I have stepped on a couple (accidentally) and wondered what they are. Any info as to which episode to find that would be appreciated 😊 Have a Merry Christmas 🎄

Thank you! I have the American Giant...and was wondering why they kept getting on the porch or in the house...the videos explained probably damp. This house is on a slab, so that explains it! The one I accidentally stepped on, emitted a black tarry substance, the one in the house was crawling straight for my long haired dog and I scooped him up with a paper towel because I didn't want to be trying to untangle him out of the hair. Thank you again for all the info!

@@vettekkimmy9147 wow! They seem almost tropical!!! Thinking they might even be bigger in Florida. Humidity and rainfall and drainage I imagine is always a factor there!
