Synth bass is such an underrated skill. Most bass players shy away from it, and try to "fake" it using effects pedals, while the ones who can play both bass guitar and synth bass are busy doing high-profile gigs with major artists.

I really like playing synth bass :) but cannot play the bass guitar 😁
@elsongs Жыл бұрын
@@NicolasMelis I started playing piano/keyboards when I was 12. Then I picked up bass guitar when I was 23 (I'm 51 now). It only took me like 6 weeks to learn how to play well enough to play out with others in public. If you play synth bass with your left hand primarily, that translates so easily into fretting movements. You already know how basslines work in the musical/rhythmic/harmonic sense, so that's half the battle already! All you need to learn is the fretboard (way easier than on a guitar) and developing plucking/picking/slapping technique.

I'm an (amateur) keyboard player, I love black and white keys but I think the soul of any song are drums and bass. When I see the white and black keys generate a sequence and rhythm as you know how to use them, I get shivers! Voyager and Dark'n Lovely are great, THANK YOU!

After i posted my first reply to your clip i have come up with a few more great tunes with amazing synth bass lines. First is another Chaka Khan song Best In The West which has much of the same flavour as We Can Work It Out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iH7Mcp9uptx9g5Y Another song with an amazing bass line is probably less known among most people but for me it is one of the great 80's amazing tunes with an amazing break where the synth bass goes bananas. Candela is the name of the group and the song is Love You Madly and it is produced by Amir Bayyan who formerly went by the name Kevin Bell and was known for being a member of Kool & The Gang along with his two brothers Robert "Kool" Bell and Ronald Bell. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3nXqnt_Zb9so9E Finally i also came to think about a song from the early 90's which is Don't Wanna Fall In Love with Jane Child. It may not have the same distinct kind of bass line like the others but it is still what makes the song tick in my opinion. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIjHkJKtarqKjMU
