Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind... obviously :D ... I enjoy it because the film offers such a well rounded ending, one that makes sense and grows beyond the film. The dreamy sequences and how the story is told is just flawless. Clever and refreshing, I so envy many who gets to enjoy it for the first time. It's a timeless love-story, unique and incredibly rewarding to watch. I think all romantic story should strive to achieve what Eternal has done.

The biggest issue with my first screenplay that I'm currently writing is the lack of stakes. My main character is very active, but there are no stakes to her goal through the entire second act, only in the first and the third.

Power to you for being able to identify that. Good luck as you identify what stakes you can add in the second act. I usually find that if I struggle in Act 2, I didn't quite get Act 1 right. It's a case by case thing- but you've got this!

No Final Draft honey.. Plus you write a paragraph of Dialogue in your project. One or two lines. Max.. Unless you work for the studio as a hired writer.. I subscribed to your intel. I'm writing my third project. I never thought of having the main character having a good friend..
