The films: 1. 0:54 Palm Springs (has Andy Samberg - about a guy and a girl are stuck in a time loop) 2. 1:37 The American President (not an old stuffy political drama) (special sneaky recommendation: When Harry met Sally) 3. 2:41 Booksmart (sounds like a sweet movie, directed out of shit by Olivia Wilde) 4. 3:50 Logan Lucky (has the bond guy & adam driver and there's people who don't know what they're doing, heisty) 5. 5:13 Big Fish (A story about stories)

I’m fairly certain that The Martian fills that incredibly niche little crevice of ‘feel-good disaster movies’ and I adore every second of it.
@arunmunagala83334 жыл бұрын

@@arunmunagala8333 ugh, no not really. I'm obsessed with it and I really haven't found anything to match it for me! I will say the art of fielding is another one of my favourite books I've read multiple times. It's about sports and it's sadder, but damn if it doesn't hit me in the feels and make me want to re-read it. Plus there are the classic sci-fi ones like enders game and of COURSE hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (and all the other books in the collection)

I have 3 feel good movies that tread between comforting and tragically cathartic: -Pride & Prejudice (2005), it's just comforting like a warm hug. It's a basic but beautiful movie and idk I think an underrated component of it is that it captures the chaos of having sisters in a very authentic way. I like it better as a movie than as an adaptation, and have rewatched it a million times. -Vai (2019), which is hard to explain but was the first film I ever saw that reflected something true about being an Indigenous woman back to me, I saw it in 2019 at a film festival with some friends and we bawled the entire time -the OG Muppets Movie, maybe my sense of humor is broken (?) but it's a delight every time

If you haven't seen the Disney Pixar film Soul yet please give it a go! I felt really seen through experiencing that movie and it was so nice to watch a gorgeous animated joint that tackles such huge abstract concepts.
