My first batch 30+ years ago had rust stains from the pins. I just painted them with paint that looked like ice. Also use glitter paint and gold coloured paint. I still use them. I also paint old ones instead of throwing them out. They turn yellow over the years. They make great Christmas gifts. I gave a friend 60 different ones a few years ago. Mine are made with crochet thread(yarn) though.

Second request. Do you or can you please show how to use 2 strands in crochet. I have seen video using 3 strands. Thank you.

There's not a similar way to join two strands as there is the continuous plying of 3 that you likely refer to. For two one way is to take one strand from outside a ball of yarn and the other from the inside.

I tend to buy glitter yarns whenever I see some. Yarn stores, hobby stores, supermarkets, craft events. But you can also get many different types online. (I took 10 days off KZbin work over Christmas so only see this now!)
