@@SamuelNaldi, totally Agree. I gave him a range of options in affordable prices. The 45 Flighters can be had on eBay for reasonable prices and have interchangeable nibs. That way if you don’t like the nib, or make a mistake smoothing it you can get a replacement for not a lot of money. Also easy to deep clean. I am a Parker fan boy though. Several Duofolds, 51’s, 45’s, 75’s, and 1 61 just for the cool filling mechanism. Budget gold nibs that are just great performers still in production is pilot all the way, sailor close second

Great selections as usual! For my birthday I have looked at several and had to buy the Montblanc Meisterstuck Le Grand 90 year in EF … but that one and the Le Grand Calligraphy flexible nib have been on my wish list for years. So I ended up getting the Montblanc Meisterstück Writers Limited Edition Rudyard Kipling (2019) in EF for my birthday. I hope it arrives in time.

I would buy the Pilot Custom urushi because I so love jet black and yellow gold (also heard about its writing capabilities), followed by the Montblanc Brothers Grimme. Now my next grail pen is the Montblanc Hadrian because his period in history inspires my art very deeply. I still have to figure out whether I shall love the washed basaltic black with gold.

Great selection of pens! My favourites of the bunch are Caran d'Ache and Pilot. I also really like Montblanc Glacier Solitaire. As for the pen I am looking to buy (spoiler alert) is an upcoming Montblanc 146 calligraphy with a curved nib. It is in mint colour and has cute wave accents.

These are beautiful pens BUT... ONLY the Visconti Homo Sapiens looks like a usable pen.. The grip sections of the others are all too smooth, shiny and almost slippery looking. They might be fine for signing a signature; but not if you actually want to do an extended amount of writing.
