Excellent video BIlly. Been advocating for Haltech ever since I learned they made a plug and play system for the Z32. Good call on the Electric fan, the shroud is key so the fan works efficiently. The reason many had cooling issues when they swap out the stock is because they failed to make a shroud for it and they were using a fan that didn't have enough CFM to pull air through. Speaking of shroud can you make a video on how you made your fan shroud?
@Billy_Built Жыл бұрын
I've had a couple people ask me about the fan shroud, I made this one like three or four years ago, I may be able to come up with a short or something like that on it.

I’m with you bro on the electric fan. I’m a big fan get it.😅 anyway what’s your opinion of running a Davies Kraig electric 150lpm remote water pump to free up some more horsepower to which I believe the parasitic loss is even slightly greater than that of the mechanical clutch fan with an infinity I30 120amp alternator along with a good quality capacitor in parallel. I’m embarking on the journey of converting my NA to E85 and turbo I’m gonna take your advice and put it to good use on my build. Just wondering about your thoughts on the water pump with the fan.

Good looking on the knowledge billy definitely taking notes 📝 as I’m in possession of a 92 Na TargaTop 169xxxmiles and definitely want to replace everything can you hook me up w some pros and cons on the deletes not too knowledgeable as to what each delete does for the vehicle saves me time from hunting thanks 🙏
@vg30zx10 ай бұрын
The main advantage of all the deletes is to simplify the engine and for a cleaner engine bay look, less components=less things that can go wrong. The EGR and PCV delete stops exhaust gasses and vaporised oil from the crank case from getting inside your intake manifold, resulting in a cleaner combustion and less gunk buildup inside the intake manifold. I believe your car will also have AIVs as they came on 89-92 models. The AIVs are connected to the metal air intake pipes and send clean air to the catalytic converters to make the exhaust gasses less toxic I guess. So the AIV delete is purely for more space in the engine bay. The throttle body coolant bypass also removes the possibility of more leaks and removes unneeded stuff from the plenum, making it much easier to pull in the future. I personally also deleted the carbon canister/fuel evaporator, air regulator and PRVR to further simplify the engine and save some space.

Great video Billy, and it is great to see there are several very good companies developing great upgrades. Got to also give a shout out to Z1 Motorsports. They have been a great support for the Z32 from the beginning, and continue to do so to this day. Unfortunately no one has, or is, developing any badly needed upgrades for our stock transmissions. My 95 has lived almost all it's life at the 520 to 560 whp range without any transmission issues. All that changed within the past year. I must have crossed some line, because now, at 760 whp and 730 ft lbs torque, I have damaged the input shaft bearing on both my original transmision, and on a new 98 J spec one, despite never launching it. Both transmissions are now whining like little girls in first, second and third, and getting worse. As there are no upgrade bearing that I can find anywhere, I don't know what to do. Any suggestions, besides a 10K plus upgraded T56 kit? Not even Scott Taylor or Rick over at Z Shack have an answer for this one.
@Billy_Built Жыл бұрын
The last two transmissions I've had, had the same whine. You will be fine if you can live with the sound. I believe Merlin offers a complete t56 kit for a little over 8K. PPG gearbox offers dog gears that I would think are compatible with the z32. But again I don't think that will fix the bearing whine. And with thaf price you may as well go t56. Unfortunately when it comes to building transmissions, The price to repair and or upgrade you may be better off switching to something all around stronger.
@boeing900 Жыл бұрын
@@Billy_Built The whine in both transmissions developed after a few 100 miles, despite never hard launching. I don't do any stop light runs, I only do roll runs on the highway, but I guess even that is more then the transmission can handle at this power level. The "go to" transmission shop here in Houston is Yates Garage. I took my Z to them so they could hear what was wrong. Their best guess, without pulling it apart, is that the input shaft must be flexing some and binding the bearing, causing it to fail. As they put it, properly designed and produced bearings don't just fail. Failure is caused by either poor lubrication, contamination or binding. Mr. Yates, the owner, called me a few days later. He told me that he could not find any information as to what exactly is causing the problem, much less any upgraded parts to fix it. The best he could do was "fix" it with stock parts, which of course is not going to actually fix the problem. But he's fairly sure the bearing itself is not the problem, it's just the part that the problem is causing to fail. Billy, do you happen to know if the T56's Merlin offers have been built or are stock? I ask because when I brought up the T56 to Mr. Yates that's what he asked me. He said he's rebuilding/upgrading two to three a week that are unable to handle even mildly modified Z06's. As he put it, "You'll tear up a stock one in no time."
