Alvaro Fernandez is certainly better than some of the LB mentioned. Its the same situation as Kobbie Mainoo at the start of the season. Despite him showing he can perform at a young age people didn't even want to include him as an option for our midfield, and now he starts ahead of any midfielder in our squad. Alvaro if handled well could be similar gem.

We need a left footed Center back and a Left back as both Martinez and shaw have missed a large chunk of games and we had nothing close to same quality to rotate them with. For Center back Jhon lucumi, Branthwaite, Mikayil Faye are the ideal options, with Toti Gomes and Bassey as other options. For the left back position Dorgu seems ideal.

Personally, Alvaro Fernandez and Harry Amas sounds good for me, of course with Shaw and maybe Malacia.. but if I can pick, Kerkez is the man. He is Serbian, well, Serbian born and half-Serbian by ethnicity, but he chose to represent Hungary. A lot of people are mad at him because of it here in Serbia, but it is his choice, but we are weaker because of it, he seems to have big potential.

There are some serious talent out there for LB. Dorgu, Netz, Kerkez, Doughty, Alt Nouri are all very good options out for us. Depends if INEOS wanna shop in the Prem as I can see us signing Prem proven players.

Think we need a CB who can play LB or a LB who can play CB, someone like Aké, Alaba, Lucas Hernández, etc. Think we should consider Hincapié of Leverkusen who's a CB but can also play LB, he's a solid defender, good on the ball, good in the air, covers a lot of ground, young and is starting at a very good team right now. But if we are looking for more of a back up then an experienced, proven option like Hermoso of Atletico will be fine too. If we want a proper LB I'd go for a top LB like Theo Hernández or Dimarco from the Milan clubs.

if we want a provenLB i'd take antonee robinson for sure, hes been consistent for fulham over last couple aeasons, strikes up a good partnership with willian who allows him to overlap all the time and the man keeps running. sometimes a little bit suspect on his positioning but i think that comes down to his attacking output puts him out of place. id bring him in to move shaw inside as cover at CB or just to have an option, malacia on loan and amass time to develop. i don't think its a position we need to address now bc i actually think if we get a RB, we don't need to sell AWB, bc i think AWB has a spot in the team still, just look at him pocketing salah in the liverpool game as a LB and just coming back from injury. Ideally I saw we get rid of Maguire and Varane and get Tolibo and Silva; this gives us the ability to play 3 CBs as Tolibo, Silva and Martinez, or play a back 4 of Dalot, Tolibo/Silva, Martinez, and Shaw. AWB, Lindelof and Evans as back ups.

If Shaw can play next season United don't need to buy a left back. Harry Amass could be the understudy. Uníted hopefully also look at Patrick Dorgu who plays in Lecce and can be bought for almost nothing (current value 7m Euros). He's maybe going to make it into the Danish Euro squad this summer - if so he'll be more expensive. Really promising 19-year-old modern full-back!

In my opinion, I think when malacia returns next season, he should be our starting lb with harry amass being backup/understudy. I know we haven't seen much of him to say anything but that's even more of a reason to start him and see what he's really capable of. He could be like the next evra for us.

Are we really ready to roll the dice on that? Personally, I don't see the logic in pinning all our hopes on Malacia as our main LB when we're still in the dark about the extent of his injury and how it might affect his game. Sure, there's value in testing his abilities on the field, but it's a bit premature to hand him the starting spot until he proves himself. I mean, let's be real, how often do you start a "bench-player" when you're not sure where they stand in terms of their ability after suffering what seems to be a rather severe inury? It's a risky move, especially considering our current situation. Sure, you could argue that a new LB might also be a gamble, but I'd wager on someone with a proven track record and who's match-fit any day over a player who's been sidelined for a whole season, with doubts still lingering about their recovery and future perforamce. To put it simply, I'm not saying we should bench Malacia indefinitely. I'm just questioning whether it's wise to bench a player who's good to go for someone with more uncertainty surrounding them. It just doesn't seem to be in Utd's interest to go about it this way. I think it'd be better for us to purchase a new LB like Patrick Dorgu who has a very promising record especially for his age, and then ease Malacia back into the main team and from there on track his performance post injury rather than starting him right off the bat.

i think ur analogy is pretty overkill honestly. u needa understand that despite Amass being an interesting prospect, he isn't proven whatsoever. Jumping into the main team is an monumental leap especially in the Premier League that asks a lot from players. If Amass does not break through the way we'd hope he would (this unfortunately happens to the majority of players), then to put it bluntly, we're screwed. LB is such a vulanrable position for us and it needs a lot of attention. That's a huge risk that i dont c Utd running. it'd be an absolute nightmare for Utd to have to say "oh well he didn't work out ig". we simply can't run those risks
