you’re right - you have to prioritize self study to fill those knowledge and confidence gaps if your path is non-traditional. i started out in web development, then almost immediately became a ux/ui designer (self taught) and now i freelance as an (all-round) designer. i have the benefit of parents who are designers, so alot of fuzzy knowledge is there. these book recommendations are great and i’ll look into them. honestly i love being self-guided in my professional trajectory ☺️

Totally! You have to be more intentional, but getting to choose your own focus and narrow in on the things that interest you is just one of the best things about this field. Enjoy the books!
