Hey guys, I get that these aren't the first picks you'd think of when thinking of the best looking PSP games. I'm pretty relaxed with how I pick these games, if they are impressive and I feel like playing them I generally include them. I don't always like including obvious choices (I know Peacewalker, God of War, Final Fantasy, Monster Hunter etc look great) and I also put a lot of value on the context of their release; I think it's cool to see launch titles and earlier releases that push the boundaries of the console and stand out amongst games released at the same time. Keep in mind these are not 'top' list videos. I know that my little decision making methods won't always have the top tier games, and I'm fully aware that in some ways this isn't the best way of making these videos, but I feel like for someone like me it makes for a more interesting video where you see some games you otherwise might not think of, also this way I get to enjoy the process a little more :) Regardless, I hope you enjoyed this video and I appreciate ya

You guys are missing the point. He said "5 Graphically impressive Games" not Top 5 or "the best", just that these are impressive. I'm not sure I would have picked two racing games and a cartoony jrpg, but its not my list and technically they are impressive. Make of it what you will.

@themriron23915 жыл бұрын
Xenoblade is really not that impressive and was visibly scaled back to work on the Wii when you pay attention to, say, character faces (which are bad, for the Wii's standards) even if the environments themselves use 512x512 textures regularly. A better candidate for this would be The Last Story, in a similar action-RPG vein but linear and in my opinion, the real time cutscenes are the best visuals you will see running on Wii hardware.

I would suggest using a camcorder to get the footage since emulators distort the intended affect. Either that, or edit your emulator settings to get it to as close to PSP as possible even if it means the window is smaller. Using the intended settings and not blowing them up will help get your point across better. I hope you do another; you missed a lot of games. I would look into Resistance Retribution, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker, tons of games that look much better than any of these.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX is the most robust version of the game. It has the PS1 extras; plus Jun, Maki and Eagle from the GBA version; plus Ingrid from Fighting Jam/Fighting Evolution; there's no slowdown, and all the animation is intact. Darkstalkers Chaos Tower also turned out well. Usually ports of CPS2 games would suffer until the PS2 era. Also, Sakura Taisen 1&2 contains both games from Sega's beloved franchise. 5 Sega Saturn discs worth of games on a single UMD. They adapted the games to display on the PSP screen and even the battles had the screen pushed to the left with a new display to the right displaying your list of character's HP and special attack names to avoid black bars of empty space.

A few games I've always thought looked pretty good for PSP were the Project Diva games. (JP exclusive) They don't beat out some of the most _impressive_ games on the PSP, but they look better than most of what's in this video. (though they may be cheating a bit, because the games have no real "gameplay" because they're rhythm games, with what's basically cutscenes running in the background of songs) Some music videos are more impressive than others, with some of the more impressive (in my opinion) being: "Look This Way, Baby" (こっち向いて) "Close and Open, Demons and The Dead" (結ンデ開イテ羅刹ト骸) "Palette" "Puzzle" "Though Song Has No Form" (歌に形はないけれど) (this is in my opinion the most impressive one) "Hello, Planet." (ハロー、プラネット。) "Lover's Suicide Oblivion" (忘却心中) and "Rolling Girl" (ローリンガール) There are many others that I think are very good, but they're not exactly "impressive." The game has pretty nice environments (sometimes) and detailed character models, decent textures for the PSP, and pretty competent facial animation and real-time physics on character models. A lot of the music videos are recreations of their arcade-machine counterparts (which ran on hardware somewhere between the power of a PS3 and PS4, I think), and the attempts are quite admirable. The music isn't to many people's tastes, being created with the Vocaloid software (essentially musical japanese text-to-speech), but I've been a fan of the series since I was in middle-school (now having graduated high school), and I've always thought the original PSP games looked very nice for the console. (Also, they upscale really nicely when emulated.)

I never thought I'd have a reason to check those games out haha, will be taking a look now thanks :)
@nyuuronfly6 жыл бұрын
+minimme cool. c: Hope you find them fun, or at the very least, graphically impressive. the 1st game isn't anything very great, but 2nd and Extend (mostly Extend) are what's interesting. I recommend downloading a save from somewhere, if you want to get straight to the songs I listed, because otherwise you need to play through _every song in each of the games_ to unlock the whole songlists, which normally isn't a very fun process.

@@zodiacthundaga7264 My point is don't miss a PSP or any consoles that are still available to play-the PSP maybe defunct but that doesn't mean you can't get one and play it.

MGS Peace Walker, Ridge Racer, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Burnout Paradise, Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7, Ys Seven/Oath of Felghana, Lunar silver star harmony etc. PSP was filled with good looking titles.

How can one not like the psp? It's a portable ps2, what more could you want? Also thanks for including burnout legends, that game is fucking fantastic
@SpeedySPCFan6 жыл бұрын
The strength of it is more like a PS1.5; it's not really as powerful as a PS2 but it's definitely stronger than a PS1. I would say the Vita is more like a portable PS2.

It's not on par with the PS2 but it's not that far away from it. I still use mine often. I mostly have PSX games on it. It's still a great console, and my battery is still going strong!

I agree with most of your lists, but not this one. Ratchet & Clank (PSP) beats all of these, in terms of graphics. Heck, even the Jak & Daxter PSP game looks better than these choices, despite being hated by pretty much everyone.

Daxter looks better than both.

Thing is, these look even better on the actual hardware. The textures are OK in a 4 inch screen at 480x272, they look blurry because of the size of the video on a computer.
