You're an amazing player, Jack. Love watching and listening to you play. And honestly, I have wondered for a while now.... why these great Amps do not receiver more attention. IMO, the Bassbreaker is the best sounding Fender amp there is... with smooth and even tones, and the thing screams power. Controlled power! Love the Bassbreaker. In fact, it's my favorite amp of anything out there. Cool vid!

Great video, Jack. I'd include a great jazz tone to the ones you used. On the mid gain structure with the gain at 9 o'clock (or not even that) and the treble rolled off you can get great jazz tones on the neck pickup of a hollowbody guitar

The Bassbreaker 15 is a very underrated amp, IMHO. I have one. I've always hated the Fender "gain" sound, being more of a Marshall fan, but the Bassbreaker and the Supersonic both had very good gain sounds. The one thing I'd say is that I think the cab sounds a bit small... well, because it is. Hook this guy up to a four by twelve and it's a monster.

Nice demo ,Great sounding amp . I had first generation 15w head and cabinet that hummed through effects loop. Returned for another one that still hummed . Returned that one also . Could never find anything in this price range that sounded as good . Ended up buying another three years later with the effects loop fix . Have not had any problem with it for the past five year's. I think there also getting a little easier to repair as people learn all the little tricks to repairing them . Only draw back is its a little on the heavy side for a 15 w amp if your gigging with it .

Some great tones here, both #3 and #5 was just that perfect Les Paul tone. The Bassbreaker seems like a really underrated Fender amp, they kinda dropped the ball with the amp getting a reputation for poor build quality early after the release.

I think they made some odd design choices that turned people off. It's a very inconsistent line. Some have an effects loop, some don't, some are 2 channel some aren't , some have reverb etc.

This amp gets bad reviews for longevity issues and no one wants to repair them but I have to say you really got some great sounds from it. Hopefully the critics are wrong about this amp.

I love the tone of these - I can't speak to the reliability problems as I never had a problem with mine, however, I've heard from enough people that I consider to be reputable that I definitely consider it a warning sign. One way or another though, its a shame because they sound great.

I had every Watt version. 45 watt head the 30, 15, 7 watt combos! The sounds were so rich and powerful. The loudness of the 45 head... Oh my goodness! Sold them all last month!

@Steve TURNER had to thin the herd. 44 years of playing, collecting. Sold 52 guitars and 58 amps and cabs. You name it, I most likely had them. Gibson, Fender, PRS, Schecter. ESP, Yamaha, Ibanez, Epiphone, VOX. solid acoustics, electrics. Marshall 100 watt heads from the 80's-2000's Fender heads, combos, Laney, VOX heads, combos, Blackstar, etc...Norm Harris from Norm's Rare Guitars and another major buyer came to my house. Sold them all to the highest bidder!

I had the BB15 and while it was a good amp, I like the other models in the series much more. The 30 and 45 are really great, and I dig the 007. One thing I noticed was that the BB15 sounded a lot better with single coils and PAF output buckers. With high output buckers it sounded mediocre. Of course, you make this amp sound great. You're a much better player than I am.

It’s pretty hard to get a bad tone out of these amps. Also should clarify…..as long as you can turn it up to a decent volume
@CentaurusRelax314

I almost bought one of these. Chose a ‘68 Deluxe instead, but I admit it wasn’t because these Bassbreakers don’t sound good and aren’t versatile and reasonably priced. Somehow, there’s a lot of negative interweb chatter about them. About the repairability and the tones. The former may be valid, I dunno. But the latter? They sound good. I do think, though, that Fender did not do themselves any favors by releasing so many different models, with none of them having all the features consumers wanted. One has an attenuator, one has a structure gain circuit, one has an effects loop, one has multiple channels…. I was at NAMM when they debuted the series and I thought then that there should have been *two* - a 50 watter for gigging and a 20 for home folks. Both with loops and attenuation and two channels. Maybe that’s in store for _next_ NAMM…. _I should live so long._

What does the structure control do?
@mike42356
@mike42356 Жыл бұрын
Each higher structure step introduces a new tube gain stage between 1 and 4. These two, used by the Low setting, are completely flat in response (without the brite cap activated). Med setting introduces stage 3, which is treble boosted. High further adds stage 2 which is mid boosted.

@@bobt7484 sure any amp can be fixed, but 16 man-hours just to take the amp apart and put back together not including repair time at $50/hr. You’re talking $800 on top of a normal repair bill. Who’s going to pay that??

There is the option to fix them yourself. I did with mine - replaced the faulty Structure switch and cathode diodes. Luckily, the schematic is available on the Internet, and stuff can be fixed by a friend with a screwdriver and a soldering iron.
