Folks in the 1960s did get a few predictions right: 1. Flat-panel TVs you would be able to hang on the wall. We have that now. 2. You would be able to interact with computers via voice: You would talk to the computer and it would respond with a computer-generated voice. We have that now too. 3. A medical advance that really has extended many people's lives is organ transplantation. Back in the 1960s, that was only possible between identical twins, but today with new medicines, tens of thousands of folks have replacement organs that saved their lives. Myself included.

Now the same baby boom generation is trying to get us to give up our cars, eat bugs, and live in cubicles 😂😂😂wow the strides we are making is astonishing.

Flying cars, not there yet, if so, a pilot's license and certification would be required regardless. Multiple computers and backups systems would be needed. Also major investment in the the technology.

We did achieve getting attacked by an enemy and a large building in NYC being destroyed by 2001.😢

By the 1970's I realized none of these things were going to happen.

I"m not surprised how hopeful their expectations were, they lived through the best time in human history for the western world with the best wages and most trust . Things generally probably seemed like they were just going to get better without them even having to check if that was true or not. We live in a boomer world, they have 96% of the world's wealth and they like it that way.

OK, Marshall, inquiring minds want to know, at least mine does; in your videos you’ve claimed to be an 80s kid, a 70s kid, and a 60s kid. Now you’re saying you’re a boomer. Just what generation are you from? :-) I am a proud Gen X-er, for what it’s worth, and I love all your videos. I hope word spreads and you get more subs. In the meantime, you’ve got a loyal subscriber in me.

This flying car stuff wasn't written or thought up by boomers, it was dreamed up and taught by people older than the boomers. This crap was being taught in the 1950s and 60s, boomers weren't old enough to take the credit for this. We might take credit for being gullible enough to believe it, but I am sure most of us never took these predictions too seriously.

Be that as it may, they were taught to believe that this was the future, like most generations were. But even in the mid-1970's when I was in my pre-teens I saw the writing on the wall. All the crap from that decade was bringing the progress of the automotive industry and everything associated with it to a grinding halt. As far as I could see, the future was dead!

Did they predict that we’d have a president who couldn’t determine where he is from one moment to the next?
