It will be different, but St. Louis has some cool spots to check out! I really enjoy this brunch spot that offers vegan chorizo made with Seitan on Cherokee St called the Mud House. May's Place is a vintage retailer and often does pop ups around the local breweries. I have found so many finds around the thrift spots there and have met so many kind souls there. The Tivoli is a very old theater and often does Rocky Horror Show around halloween and people dress up and they do a lot of artsy films, of course Covid has changed things, but they are opening up more and more.

Just got back from a thrifting trip to Nashville...Goodwill Outlet (1st time, loved it for hard goods, not a fan of digging for clothes ), Music City Thrift, 3 Goodwills and 3 Ross's😂. Looking forward to St Louis!!

Spraying with vodka can help with cigarette smoke! I've also heard people swear by putting the item in a bag and then putting the bag in the freezer for a while. I haven't tried the freezer personally lolol but just an idea for ya!

I tried the freezer hack with jeans because apparently you shouldn't wash jeans but freeze them instead. Well let me tell you it did nothing other than make the jeans cold. And they were in there for like 2 days...so I don't recommend😄

Soaked in vinegar and water for couple hours and take it to a cleaners. Did that with some corduroy overalls I thrifted and worked like a charm! 14:40

Just found your channel and I love it! The thrift stores that price items so high are just hurting themselves, most of those items won't sell until they are marked down. My local thrift stores do 5 for $5 on weekends and I always find the items that were priced for $20-$30 and I'm buying it for $1 on sale, had they just marked it like $5 it would have sold right away and they would have made more.

To get rid of the smoke smell in leather or suede try this. Get a plastic tote. Line it with cat litter. Place a thin mesh layer from Lowes or Home Depot garden center. Then put the garment on top and then put the lid on. After a week or two the smell should be gone. You can also add a layer of wadded newspaper under the mesh on top of the kitty litter. Activated carbon from a fish supply store works in place of the litter too. Good luck.

I am from St Louis and definitely have a few thrift recommendations if you would like them!! I love St Vinny’s for clothes and home decor! If you’re looking for something more curated I have found some amazing pieces at Found by the Pound on Grand! May’s Place in the Grove is very well curated but over priced and the employees are not super friendly IMO. I did just leave my job at Clothes Mentor (the Ellisville location is the best one!). They sell current pieces like Madewell, Free People and high end designers like Louis Vuitton and Gucci! If you happen to stop by that location, tell them Caitlyn sent you! 🥰🥰

Re: Suede Jacket Cat litter usually does the trick with musty leather (think old handbags and suitcases), I think it could help with the smell of cigarette although that’s a stubborn offender. You basically seal a bag with your item and leave it for a couple of days so that the cat litter can absorb unwanted smells. Brush away any residue. Repeat if the first time isn’t enough. Otherwise I’d suggest seeking the help of a professional dry cleaner.

Lewis could of been a sassy theater teacher who brought some costumes to share with her kiddos and after loosing a few just got in the habit of labeling them for the wash ❤️ I had iron on name labels for camp, they were the same kinda my mom used when she went to summer camp.

Zero Odor spray is the only thing that can take *some* cigarette smell out. If you’re able to wash something, use the Zero Odor laundry soap. It works great for stinky workout clothes/BO too. On a separate note- I wish I could find some matching blazer/dress sets like you do! I’m still jealous of the navy one you found in Tampa. Can’t wait to see all the thifting in St. Louis! Thanks for showing us so many amazing spots in Nashville!

Reguarding cigarette smoke - try putting items in WOODEN cat litter pellets, dunno if it'll work on cigarette smoke but it definitely works on musty and damp smelling item. I had some books that stunk of damp, 3 days in the litter = No more smell 👍

Vodka would work spraying it only on the inside lining and then let it dry...then I would use my garment steamer on the inside lining next, but not allow it to touch the fabric. I would even go over the suede but keep the steamer far enough away that it wouldn't destroy the suede... then I would take to the dry cleaners after that.

It's vodka and I have told a lot of people about it on my channel when I started doing thrift hauls. I was on figure skating ice shows that toured and our wardrobe department would spray all the costumes down with vodka to keep them from stinking. It works very well. Dissipates completely and doesn't leave a lingering smell... sometimes white vinegar can linger a lot longer if you use that, but it also works very well too.
