I have a new property with a tiny pond(probably ¼ to ⅓ of an acre) on it. The water in that pond is black from years of leaves and straw falling in it.

@@BravoSeven do you mean Black Creek, the one that converges with the Pascagoula near Vancleave? If so, I worked doing oil and gas exploration all over that area. I've swam and waded everything wet in that area, and you are correct, that creek ain't called Black Creek because it was nighttime when it was found.🤣. Always gave us the willys when we had to cross it because you just can't see far into that water. The Eskatawpa is also dark stained and fast flowing down in that area. I remember the old bridge on Bloody 98 that crossed it was a highway nightmare 😬 there were big sections of the concrete guardrails missing that had been replaced with sections of heavy chain and cables. That was absolutely the most terrifying bridge I ever remember crossing. I know I'm way off subject here but there was a girl who would cut my hair in Lucedale who prior to going to barber school was an EMT. The stories she told about the wrecks on the bridge and highway were horrific, I still remember some of those stories today. That was 42 years ago...

Actually Chris, I don't think any of your subs doubted your work would fail in any possible way. Those who do haven't been paying attention to your past pond builds. Those of us who had complete confidence in you can't wait for the next pond build you take on. We're ever bored, never let down. It's especially awesome niw that you're working on your pond.

Chris, with all the pond builds, have you given any thought to building a small hydro electric generator to power your house or farm, you have the capability to build up a head of storage water and release to power the hydroelectric generator turbines.

Having watched Bealys pond from clearing to completion I can only say it’s been an amazing transformation. You should be proud of yourself. Looking forward to your pond build. Speaking of hay. There’s a fellow KZbinr Trevor Bales (his real name) he does nothing but plant, cut & bale hay all day. Trevor would no doubt give you some good advice. Thanks for posting. 🇬🇧👍👍👍

Very nice job on the overflow drain. I just installed a 500 foot one on my 1/4 acre pond. My budget for materials was only 2 hunnert bucks, so hydrodynamic design took a back seat to the budget, but it seems like it has enough head to keep itself clean. Time will tell I suppose.

I think we got that much the last weekend of March. And it took out just about every culvert in Chambers country, Alabama. Not only that but it also caused the nearby city of LaFayette, Al., to curtail water use caused it cut the dam at the city's lake for water into.
