Fun fact, defendants are often placed under huge pressure to sign the confession being sold the BS line that "confessions bring leniency." If they're using a court appointed attorney then their defence will just join the chorus telling them to confess leaving these people with little option but to either somehow find the money for a real defense attorney or just go ahead and sign.

@jasper426 Exactly this. I see comments all the time about how the families are wrong for their outbursts, but they really are victims themselves. It's like people don't consider that these perpetrators still have loved ones. Yeah, it might be upsetting to see them defend a killer, but it's still someone's son. Think about it: the last thing the perp hears before they go to jail is the pain they caused their own family. As funny as that idea is, a lot of guys are forced to take plea deals to even hope to get back out. Not all are criminals, some guys are in the wrong place at the wrong time and their DNA gets at the scene. There's plenty of stories of dudes being forced to plead guilty to crimes they didn't commit only to get 30 years despite a plea deal and not get out for 10 when the evidence comes out that they didn't do it. Criminal justice needs some serious reform, especially forensics and the way sentencing works.

Well youre an idiot, how to show care for a crime? You already did the crime and when you get angry at the sentence you get angry at the fact that you got it for doing the crime... You can't just feel something about the crime itself.. sure they may not be showing it in the moment but they regret it somewhere and to some extent... But don't act like a piece of shit saying they only cares about the sentence.... OF COURSE THEY CARED ONLY ABOUT THE DAMN SENTENCE.... that's the fucking moment reality hits them and you expect to be able to draw your attention away from hearing a guy telling you that you are gonna spend your entire LIFE in prison... Holy shit it's just retarded how you think sometimes and I'm saying it in general... Everyone thinks the exact same without looking at the context or situation they are currently in... And these things are usually days after the crimes so chances are they already felt bad before let alone their entire life ahead of them in prison.

@@eliankt.21 How to show care? I'm not even looking for these people to care about the crime they've committed. If they're someone that understands, they wouldn't be committing the crime in the first place. I do feel for people that did something like murder for murder revenge and stuff like that. Majority of these people are someone that commits the crime thinking they can get away with it, or gets so damn high when in rage, and does it thinking like the world revolves around them, when in that type of state, and did it for their own good. Already felt bad? What type of people are you talking about? Ever heard of disgusting criminals saying they'll come out to murder more? Threatening judges? M. Amador I actually believe the cop was innocent because of everything in the case. As a cop and detective you need to have a mindset of "innocent until proven guilty" of which the female detective investigating the case had the mindset of "I'mma prove he's guilty!!" Which first off red flag there. Secondly the way she handled the case was going around asking about a sexual assault, which if you didn't know is not the way to go about it because then they could confess for money or fame or something of those sorts. She should've conducted the investigation in a more appropriate manner such as asking about incidents with cops recently yet very vague-like, "when's the last time you made contact with anyone in the department whether it be regarding speeding etc.?" Or "have you had any bad experiences with any cops lately?" And see where that leads on from there don't just straight up ask. Thirdly one of the girls who "confessed" admitted multiple times prior that nothing happened to her until, what I presume, she gave way to the detective to satisfy her, give her what she wanted, or get her to shut up because after sitting down for so long in a interview or whatever type of set up it was I'd be tired of constant pushing and eventually cave in so I could be let go. Fourthly no actual dna evidence was found on his clothing besides on the outside of his zipper, of which the woman who they found it to be said that she wasnt sexually assaulted. Fifthly another woman who "confessed" described it to be a "short black man" of which holtz is much taller than her, yet she described him being shorter, and he, as you can, see looks to be of some Asian or white descent, which isn't at all him. Those are the primary reasons I believe he's innocent and I actually feel really freaking bad for the guy because he doesn't deserve it at all.

10 years ago my cousin was murdered by his best friend (the best friend and my cousin’s fiancé were having an affair. the best friend thought killing my cousin would sway her affections fully in his favor). i will never forget how the murderer’s family would not even look at ours. not a empathetic nod or sympathetic gesture throughout the whole trial. when he was sentenced, they all broke down in loud hysterics, crying and falling all over the place. i never got over their lack of emotion to my cousin’s death, or their emotional outbursts behind their family member’s self-imposed fate. this video was triggering.

r.i.p. to your as well. i am so sorry that you and your family have to go through this. this tragedy is still new to you and your family so, i am wishing you all the strength to get through. losing your cousin was hard enough, but the trial will be an entirely new set of hurts to handle. stay strong. do your best not to allow the views of his family to pour salt into open wounds. in their heads, they are losing someone, too. it takes a huge, humane soul to see and acknowledge the pain that their loved one inflicted. don’t expect it, but also don’t hate them for his deeds. he’s the murderer, just him. try to remember that. *here’s to getting the justice that your cousin deserves*
