that floor style is known here in the USA as "tongue and groove", the way they interlock to one another. We are using it for our walls in our build. Good job, it looks amazing!!!!

I've never seen Parkay boards being installed directly on the wood structure like that I am used to seeing a sub-floor and some type of light foam layer and then putting the Parkay on top of that. I hope it won't be squeaky but you know best and all your work is great so I'm sure it will be fine.

What is Parkay? Parquet is French and means decoratively arranged wood pieces like for instance in a herringbone pattern could be called parquet. But not these plain straight boards laid down perpendicular to the joists.

Me too. Subfloors provide a nice level base, plus noise but it also dampens sound. It helps to keep the floor stable. Wood floors expand & contract, they may twist or sag since the joints weren’t all made on a beam.

Toung and groove flooring. We have prefinished and finish in place. 3/4 inch direct on joists, and thinner boards that can be used over sub flooring. Both real wood and composit materials.

The trouble with the glue is that its solid after it sets, and you will definitely have wood flex after a few seasonal cycles. But it hopefully it will still be enough to keep things from creaking. Great job as always!

Great job on the flooring! In Australia we call that type of wood flooring tongue & groove, usually made out of pine. Hope the new batteries serve the Village house well.😊

It's beautiful but my husband and I are both watching on our big screen tv and telling you no, no, no, Stop! We think you should have put underlayment wood down first, then nailed the boards down to account for movement of the wood. It is not recommended to glue directly to the floor joists because of the natural movement of the wood and warping from humidity. Not trying to be critics, just helpful.
