TBH i get why people don't use it but I feel like anime is super underused in analog horror- early 90s/2000s stuff can be super scary sometimes, both unintentionally and on purpose. Theres also how abusive the anime/manga industry can be with multiple creators dying of overwork (most famously berserks creator) which is prime for commentary mixed with horror
