No one is more surprised then Carter when he pures a shot during these vlogs. Even though he does it all the time.

All good tips. Even those of us who like our long irons can benefit from them. A dozen or more years ago I played for almost an entire year with just irons in the bag and my 3 iron has been a favorite off the tee ever since. Even so, I'm sure I'll find these tips useful. Right now though I've got a 3 hybrid in the bag. A Cobra one length 3 hybrid. I just had to give the idea a try. At first, I hated it. Too short. So I had it extended and inch and while I still think it's a bit too short, I do find it very simple to hit. It brought me 3 birdies and an eagle playing the senior course today. Sub 220 yard par 4's make for easy work with that club.

Wow this is a great video. Kinda new subscriber here who just bought the cobra utility 2 iron, will definitely be following these tips tomorrow on the course. Cheers Carter !

Brotha, I just relate so much to your game. I had to make sure I get the heel down, in a staggered practice, to make sure my hand are not already overrating and preparing me for my scuba lesson as I go lookin off into the left. You

I needed this, changed my swing over the summer to coming more shallow and the inside and went from a solid 4 iron to a spotty one. Finding the ball further back is helping out. With the control

Yes ball position relative to swing path is so important

@@andycartergolf I was terrible trying my 5 and 7 iron 2 inches in front of center like my Hybrid off of the deck. My hybrid is the best club in the bag. My irons are useless unless it's my 9 iron, sand wedge or pitching wedge. I am generating too much spin and losing distance with my 5 & 7 iron. More forced shaft lean doesn't help. ☹️
@christinegoulden79403 жыл бұрын
PS I was listening, Andy when you said you shouldn't put shaft lean on a wedge because you bypass the bounce of the club. There is shaft leane on all my other irons however.

Brilliant one, thank you Andy. My 7 Iron has always been better than my 5 Iron. I usually have the ball in the center for both of those. I am better with my Hybrid and 3 Wood, but the ball is two inches in front of center for those. I could try the 5 Iron two inches in front. Because of my 4 Hybrid, I haven't had a 2,3, or 4 Iron since 2002. lol

Excellent video and something you’ve massive highlighted as a flaw in my swing is my balance. I often struggle or hold my finish as I feel like I’m falling forward. Any tips on how to stop this being an issue? as I seem to be struggling to change it

Thanks Simon, I’ll get this filmed and released asap as i think its a common problem

Have the Cobra King Utility 3 & 4. Don't see many utility iron comparisons that include them. You'll mostly see Taylormade, Titleist and Srixon clubs going head-to-head.

Any recommendations on gapping long irons? I find there is only about 5 yard carry diff between my 4&5 iron (4- 21° and 5-23°) maybe weaken the loft on the 5i? Don’t want to go too much lower with the 4i

I rather think I am keeping my weight on my toes too much during my swing; I'll be going to do some practice later today and will work on this. Cheers and thanks for the tips

With the way you strike your irons i would be getting a second camera set up on that green! Imagine it going in the hole and you didnt catch it on film 😂
