I don't have any idea about this re choosing in IITs, but yes in IISc there is no fail. So you wont get any backlog.

Go for IISc EE, its good. Unfortunately I dont have placement data. If I able to get the data, will share for sure. try asking people in LinkedIN from the EE dept, if you found some one

I dont know about other branches, but in computer science, if you crack gate in CS, any brach you did your btech, you are eligible for mtech at iisc. I hope this is similar for all.

Yes there is an entrepreneurship and startups cell in IISc, but very few students used to be interested in that. If you are interested you can talk with them. They used to conduct many seminars, workshops etc also.

It depends on particular advisor. Some gives freedom to students to take whatever courses they want. Some demands to take specific courses.

I dont know, but in iisc in all the classes generally PhDs are the TAs. Mtechs are not given any TA duty there. I dont think even now when the BTech is started they will give Ta ship to mtech people.

I would suggest, join IISc/IITs if you get a chance. IIST is good, but they have a condition after the bachelors that you have to join ISRO. Thats not flexible I feel.

There are few international offers every year for the Btechs of IITs. 2Cr usika hota hai. Otherwise indian sare company ka same packages

Yes Bro, I am from MSIT, Kolkata, which is a tier 3 college. Yes most of gate toppers are from Tier 3 College. Prepare from early your college days. Gate you can easily crack.

Dada how easy will it be for a Direct PhD student to choose their favourite supervisor compared to someone coming with masters? Do MTech students get more preference while selecting their supervisor compared to direct phd students?

It is almost similar for both the cases. Once you join the institute, you will start meeting professors, talk with them regarding the area they are working and also attend their classes. You will get couple of months to decide whom to join. So whoever you feel is best fit for you you will approach them and if He/She agrees you can join him/her. Its same process for any Ph.D.

In our time, i.e 2019 session highest base was around 22-24 lpa. CTC I can't remember exactly, but it must be more than 30 Overall avg base is 18lpa.
