@Laura-db8om Active range of motion (AROM) is the range of movement a body part can achieve on their own without any assistance. For instance, if you were lying on your back and you performed a heel slide trying to bend your knee as far as possible on your own. If you used passive range of motion you could use your own hands or a yoga strap to help bend the knee further with the same exact exercise.
