In knitting, you are constantly confronted with new techniques, patterns and ideas. Often, these are advertised as better, faster, or neater. In this video, I want to explore the reality behind 5 very popular such knitting myths and my view of things.
Often, you hear knitting socks toe-up was easier. Or knitting a sweater top-down was easier. Or that continental knitting was faster than English knitting. Frequently I also hear that someone doesn't feel they know enough about knitting yet to tackle a certain project.
But the reality is, you only need to know 10 basic techniques and 90% of all knitting patterns will be accessible to you. A lot of the fancy stuff is needlessly complicated and best reserved for super advanced knitters who want to eke out the last 5 percent.
