For the first hour or so, my lines are meticulously placed. Then they quickly devolve into spaghetti 🍝 as the adhd kicks in. These are some awesome designs. I particularly like the first conveyor bus!
@fromscratchgamingАй бұрын
Yeah I feel you. I have to constantly fight against ADHD, but that's where blueprint comes in. Do it once then it's super easy to just lay down a tone of neat tidy good looking belts down
@huffinLeeroyАй бұрын
@@fromscratchgamingthe blueprints have definitely changed the game for me. Having to only build it once helps keep me engaged.

Same, same. And to top it off, I'm OCD'ing with all belts having to be straight, non-clipping, and am infuriatingly against building off the global grid, which causes so many self-inflicted "issues" that I almost go nuts. It was easier to satisfactory manage my OCD's in Factorio, but Satisfactory is way more satisfactory when I succeed! Bad dad-puns intended btw xD
@fromscratchgamingАй бұрын
@@IzaacB89 First thing, as a dad, and much to the pain of my son and partner, I love a good dad pun, so thanks for that absolute gem. But i also totally get where you are coming from. it is very easy to ruin the fun by putting to much emphasis on self imposed 'rules'. I kinda want to do a video about it that specifically shows my hidden spaghetti and talks about this issues.
@seanries4Ай бұрын
@@fromscratchgaming I hope you do make that video! I have reached an interesting point in my first playthrough (300hrs) where the game scratches the ADHD itch amazingly well. It also causes much consternation (banjo!) due to the self-imposed rules you and @IzaacB89 mentioned. I think a discussion surrounding learning coping skills would be great. I realize that may sound silly to some out there as this is 'just' a game however I think this could help. I know I use the game to escape. I will sometimes lay out belts almost 'correct' and purposefully make that bend 80 deg. instead of 90. F you OCD! There's at least 3 different brains in my brain. Unfortunately they don't all get 100% utilization - they each get closer to 20% - meaning at any one time, I am incredibly stupid when it comes to certain things. Where is the remaining 50% brain? Drivetrain losses!

The ADA thing was brilliant. She definitely convinced me to subscribe before getting back to work saving the day.

Great glad you enjoyed it. She is a bit of a diva to work with but think she nailed the scene in the end.

I'm very confident I know why your blueprints at the beginning weren't snapping as expected. Your conveyor poles looked like they were on the edge of the blueprint, and the game gives them physical space to accommodate. I had the same issue with decorative beams on my rail blueprints. I suggest that, since you're connecting belts anyways, just move the conveyor poles inwards by a foundation or so.

yes I think you are correct.

@fromscratchgamingАй бұрын
Thanks! If you have any questions when your playing with the blueprint let me know. But they are ment as a kinda examples of what you could do and so especially with the tunnel own it may need expanding on it make it work for some people. But I wanted to make them in the MK1 blueprinter so the most people can access them.

I like to show off neatly places belts, but every one of my builds always seems to have a box where I hide all my logistic atrocities
@fromscratchgamingАй бұрын
Mate we all have a box of shame somewhere in our builds. I've got an idea for a video about how i prioritise what I put time and effort into and what doesnt matter.
@ConflictZvАй бұрын
@fromscratchgaming That's a great idea, way too often I find myself stressing over little details that have no bearing on the overall build
@fromscratchgamingАй бұрын
@@ConflictZv yeah I have a few loose rules of what I do and don't spend time on. But it up to each person really. I need to formalize my thoughts in to a script. The main idea would be that you shouldn't be stressing about it, it's a game not a job and in the end if your happy with your build then that's all that matters
@rastadudeАй бұрын
at least it's not an entire floor.
@Rambrus016 күн бұрын
the reason the first blueprint doesnt snap is the belts at the end. They are wider than the foundation and the blueprint snap mode leaves therefor 1 meter between then. I had the same thing and moving back a belt 1 solves this issue

the display lighting you split can be done with symbols u just take one of these " ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ █ ▉ ", make 2 full rows and an empty space inbetween to push them out. the lumen effect even changes depending on how much surface is actually a color. or u can do a Background Color + a different color with rows mixin the lightcolors. gets pretty fancy

That sounds really cool. I'm gonna have to have a play with that
