I LOVE that you're not talking. I hate that some videos have a ton of yammering. You get right to the point and are clear. Much appreciate your video series.

Very clear. You show the principles of the hinge so well that most people should be able to adapt the technique easily to different sizes and numbers of pages.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to do this and for sharing it. I have tried making hidden bindings three times already and failed each time. But I came across your tutorial and thought that I would try once more. I'm so glad that I did because it was a success - well mostly. :) I ended up with five hinges instead of six because I folded the first over too much but I will know next time.

I think credit should go to Kathy Orta -paper phenomenon - as she actually created this hinge and calls it her hdden hinge binding system, ozziegran has just adapted it slightly. You do a great job demonstrating it tho'.
@tamaragayle39935 жыл бұрын
I learned this method when I started teaching kinder in the early 90s . Just because Kathy was the first to think to apply for a pattern doesn't mean she was the creator.

Your work is terrific and the tutorials are easy to follow. One question that is driving me nuts... There are six hinges and seven gussets; each gusset is ¼ inch wide; how are you getting a two-inch wide finished piece?? Seven x .25 is 1¾ not 2. No matter what I do, I can't get a two-inch wide finished piece... Help?
@papercrafter4510 жыл бұрын
LOL! No need to fret! It's true that the actual total gusset measurement is 1-3/4". However, you also need to take into account that the folded hinges themselves add to the width. Hence, the total width of the Stacked Hinge Binding for this mini is 2"! Thanks for writing & for your nice comment! Have a great day! :)

I saw a lot of tutorials bt I could not understand as I was a beginner. I could not figure out hw to customise n calculate n wat basis it's all about. Bt ur tutorial.i must say. It's like a spoon feeding. U taught it in a simple yet detailed method. Nw I got to knw he to calculate out own hinge thank you for this. Bt I did not understand the last part. 1 1/4in and 2inch gusset wer did u stick those.i didn't get it. Suddenly the hinge looked equal n perfect wer did the falos gone n why not equal measurements on both sides. I mean 1 1/4 on one side n 2in on other side. Bt end hw all looked equal🤔
@papercrafter453 жыл бұрын
Hello … thank you for your very kind words! They’re much appreciated! The reason the left & right sides aren’t equal is because I’m only working with an 11” piece of cardstock. In order to fit the spine, the binding needs to be scored this way. :)

Hello, Ankita! I’m not sure what type of binding to recommend for what you have in mind. I’ve never attempted an album with such a large number of pages. Hope whatever method you choose works well for you, though. Thanks for writing! :)
