Overwatch has about 9 years of development… rivals just came out and is a strong contender off jump. Yeah it’s not perfect but it’s light years ahead of where ow was on release. Personally I’ve been playing ow since release and It always feels like the rug being pulled out from under me. I understand there are people who love the current version of ow and that’s great for them. I’m tired of it though and rivals is giving me more fun in the genre than I’ve had in a very long time.

Well, they made a poll a month ago, and they were gathering feedback about destructible environments, so we might get that in the future

Having Hero-Combinations in Overwatch sounds cool and could open many new possibilites to play the game. Imagine it doesn´t have to be some kind of action the heroes perform like for example Brigitte and Reinhardt combining their shields but simply having certain passives which gets activated like when you play a full team of only Omnics they each get some shield or little teams like the Junkers who gain a dmg-boost if they´re close to each other.

But didn't the devs say that they hate having synergies in game, especially tank synergies which were deemed to be OP, unbreakable & wht not... Wasn't this one of the arguments for going 5v5?

I’m about to yammer because I like both games and both games have weaknesses and strengths. Yes, Rivalers, there’s weaknesses and it’s not just Wolverine. /j I’d like to see the environmental things in OW, but I think they would have to be careful with it. The debris in Rivals is solid so you can get stuck in it with no way out until it reforms. I had it happen twice on Wakanda and it’s not fun. (Note this happened pre-patch so it might be solved.) Also I have a suspicion the debris is one of the things crashing PCs at the moment. How the lore is treated in Rivals is what I’ve wanted in OW. You even get an achievement for reading the Rivals lore. It’s so silly to me that the lore isn’t collected somewhere in the OW game itself. We have Athena so it’d be cool to be able to interact with her as a database on the characters, factions, places, and plot. That kind of thing was teased with the paid missions so I think they have the capability. I’d also like the currency in OW tied into the plot somehow, make it feel more grounded. Chrono items exist in the lore of Rivals. None of the OW currencies exist in the OW universe. I also think the Rivals website does a better job breaking down the characters. The Overwatch website doesn’t give you any stats about their abilities. You have to go to third-party websites to get numbered stats.

I genuinely hope that overwatch gets better but I at least want it to stay alive. Like, we get it people, you love rivals and hate overwatch. But let us have our game, you don't have to play. This game saved me from so many things and I deeply care for this game. I'd be devastated if it died. I think rivals has amazing potential and I do play occasionally. But overwatch deserves to live. I hope rivals brings HEALTHY competition that improves overwatch

Fair points on all counts. I remember thinking the destructible environments were going to be stupid, but they’ve turned out pretty cool, so I’d love to see how the Overwatch team would iterate on it. And there’s every possibility they might. I would imagine they’ll make a few changes in light of Rivals. We won’t see them for a while, because these things take time, but I’m even more excited for the future of Overwatch than I was with this new competition out there spurring then on.

Can we talk about the in-game tournament system??? I missed this so much from Rocket League. The ability to boot up the game and queue with other people (even if you're solo queuing) and play in a more competitive environment than comp was so nice. Overwatch NEEDS this!

The game wasn't for me, but honestly those points sound awesome, I really wish we had more weather effects too like storm rising, can you imagine playing and this storm comes in, reducing visibility and totally changing how we have to play until it passes, widow and hanzo made useless and it's just close range heros now. And maybe a blizzard coming in to slow everyone down, making snipers more powerful.

today I loaded into lijang tower as ball, went 15 - 1 but still lost. Losers queue is real. They should fix that first. hope rivals makes them give us more content.

I don’t understand your complaint? So you went 15-1 one game. Are you doing that consistently?? How many games did you win despite going negative?? I think people over focus on these isolated events when matchmaking is all about averages

7:30 you say that the skin is always the last item you can buy, however this isnt always the case. if you look at hela's skin, she is at the top of the page meaning you can get the skin first.

Not ALL of the best elements of the Battle Passes, they left out the best one from Helldivers 2 where they never expire even if you don't buy them right away. With Rivals if you don't buy the Pass before the time is up, you lose access to it and can't buy it later, unlike Helldivers 2.

Every bundle has good cosmetics in Rivals. From the looks of it, they don't show favoritism for their characters, unlike ow.

I feel that destructible environments can be good, but with how MR implemented it I am not keen on it. It feels like either A. they put in some random area that feels inconsequential or B. they originally had a door there and needed to fir their quota for destructible environment. Also please God no don't have team ups.

When it comes to destructible environments and team up abilities, I think they shouldn’t come to Overwatch as it would take away from it being unique to marvel rivals and I don’t think it would make sense for a bunch of soldiers to be every single building, whereas it does make sense for a bunch of superheroes to do so

"It's the lore that kept me going back" I'm sorry, what lore are you talking about, the pve got dropped, we've had almost zero new pieces of lore in years, no new comics and the story hasn't changed since the release of overwatch 2. Overwatch doesn't care about its players, let alone its characters or story.

100% this totally agree, for me it's the saddest part about OW2 - a game that only exists because they told us we'd be getting proper PvE and finally a proper way in game to experience an overarching story and lore, only for it to be canned and for them to pretty much revert on most of the changes they did make making the whole 'sequel' feel like a massive waste of time.

Rivals is fun but needs work, a LOT of work. Maps have way too many odd dead-end spaces, character balance is a joke (naturally - Magick is ridiculous), and honestly the game looks and reads better the more you turn down the graphics. The “dying” sound is horrid and frankly unsatisfying vague. Emotes are meh, and voice lines/acting are flat as hell. Kits also feel a bit… bloated as well. Pitching the MCU from the main screen is just annoying…

I had an OW match recently where we talked about which characters we find most attractive the entire time. It's really case by case. I've had unbalanced matches that were still positive, and balanced matches that were somehow super toxic.

I find the missions for the BP in rivals really really bad and awful. I prefer the ow that you just can grind games to progress the bp. I don't want to be forced on certain heroes. But yeah no expired bp would be great.
