DOPPELJUBILÄUM AN MEINEM 50. GEBURTSTAG
200. Marathonjubiläum nach 9 1/2 Jahren
Am 2. August 2024, ausgerechnet am Freitag, hatte ich mein 50. Geburtstag und mein Wunsch war schon über ein Jahr lang, dass ich an meinem 50. Geburtstag ein Marathonlauf mitzumachen und was ich leider bei meiner Suche im Internet nach den Terminen festgestellt habe, dass in Deutschland und zum großen Teil in Europa kein Marathonlauf am Freitag anbietet...?!
Da wurde ich eine andere Alternative fündig, nämlich in der französischen Normandie gab in Pavilly (6000- Einwohner-Ort) ein interessantes, dreitägiges Laufwettbewerb. Es handelte sich um ein Backyard-Ultrarennen und da nahm ich diese noch nie teilgenommene Alternative.
Zusätzlich konnte ich glücklicherweise mein 200. Marathonjubiläum dort auch mitfeiern, was aber mit dieser Marathonzahl nur ein Zufall war...
Eine Teilnahme mit fast 100% pure Trail beim Backyard-Ultrarennen war ja sehr interessant, aber relativ hart... Sehr viele Steigungen zu bewältigen und stets jede Stunde an der Startlinie anzutreten - das war für mich wie eine Teilnahme auf dem Fließband! Jedoch hatte ich wie andere ebenso mit diesem tollen Laufwetter großen Spaß und mein herzliches Dankeschön geht klar an das Orga-Team sowie seine Helfern - ohne ihn wäre das mit meinem Doppeljubiläum nicht stattgefunden...
Hut ab an die anderen Finishern, die noch weitere mehere Runden absolviert haben! Ich beendete nach 7 Runden, wo ich die volle Marathondistanz erreicht habe und konnte dann am Abend mit meiner lieben Frau meinen 50. Geburtstag ausgiebig feiern.... Es bleibt für uns unvergesslich!!!

DOUBLE ANNIVERSARY ON MY 50TH BIRTHDAY
200th marathon anniversary after 9 1/2 years
On August 2nd, 2024, on Friday of all days, I had my 50th birthday and for over a year I had wanted to take part in a marathon on my 50th birthday and what I unfortunately discovered when I searched the internet for the dates was that in Germany and most of Europe there is no marathon on Friday...?!
Then I found another alternative, namely in the French Normandy in Pavilly (a town with 6000 inhabitants) there was an interesting three-day running competition. It was a backyard ultra race and I took this alternative that I had never taken part in before.
I was also lucky enough to be able to celebrate my 200th marathon anniversary there, but that was just a coincidence with that number of marathons...
Taking part in the Backyard Ultra Race with almost 100% pure trail was very interesting, but relatively hard... Coping with lots of climbs and always being at the start line every hour - for me it was like taking part on an assembly line! However, like everyone else, I had a lot of fun with this great running weather and my heartfelt thanks go to the organization team and their helpers - without them, my double anniversary would not have happened...
Hats off to the other finishers who completed several more laps! I finished after 7 laps, where I reached the full marathon distance, and was then able to celebrate my 50th birthday with my lovely wife in the evening... It will remain unforgettable for us!!!
