Cheap dessert: either leave the flour tortilla whole or cut into 8ths. Fry until crisp sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, drizzle with Hershey syrup and dollop of whipped cream. Fast and uses up the tortillas.

My mom did that with extra pie crust dough. She rolled it out with a rolling pin and used a fork to poke holes in the dough to keep it from curling and bubbling up. Then, spread butter on the dough and sprinkled the entire dough with cinnamon and sugar mixture. Bake in oven on same temp as the pies. Remove from oven when golden brown on edges. Let cool. Break apart and enjoy!! 😊😊😊yummy 😋 😍

Hi, and I am new to your channel. However I wanted to let you know that I was inspired by your chicken & stuffing casserole. I used my leftover rotisserie chicken meat instead, didn't have carrots but did have frozen mixed veggies, and melted the last of my colby-jack cheese on the top. It turned out delicious!!! Thanks for this awesome recipe. BTW: I'm a single disabled women with right side weakness from my massive stroke, and many of your dinner ideas work for me cos of my limited abilities. A easy cheap casserole to make is - 1 lg onion chopped - 3 lg potatoes , sliced in rounds about 1/4 inch thick- 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup and add 1 & 3/4 cups of water to the soup and mix it up in a bowl - 2 - cups shredded cheddar cheese- in a 9 X 13 casserole dish put the onions on bottom - layer in the round sliced potatoes - pour over your mushroom soup mixture and cover in foil and bake at 375 for 1 hour- remove from oven remove foil sprinkle over the 2 cups of cheese - return to oven uncovered and bake 10 more minutes! This casserole I’ve been making gif at least 40 yrs it’s delicious and can be served alone or with a dude dish ! If you have the extra money you can fry up a pound of hamburger meat or some sausage or bacon snd add into the casserole on top of the potato layer before you pour on the mushroom soup mixture, follow the rest of the video as written! This recipe can be cut in 1/2 if you have a small family!! 🙏✝️🙋🏻

Pepper is a very healthy condiment. I don't care for it too much, but add it anyway. I try to use as little salt as possible because I retain water so easily. I totally enjoy this channel and Aunt Vickie and Dusty's, too. I hope to see Aunt Vickie and Dusty do a few collaboration videos for filling time when in a situation of having no TV, video games or phone services while waiting through a bug out situation or waiting for electricity to come back on. The downtime with nothing to do can be the worst thing.

I make some drop biscuit mix out of flour and seasonings and I let it sit for 15 minutes in a warm spot. Then I get a bowl of COLD water and a teaspoon. I dip the spoon in the water and then use the side of the spoon in the mix to dip and just get a little bit and drop it in the boiling chicken broth. Remember to dip your spoon in the cold water EVERY TIME after you dropped the mix in the pot. You can make as much mix as you want. I guessed it cost me $1 dollar to make the dumplings and another 3 dollars for the homemade chicken broth and a bag of mixed vegetables. So $5 buckes and I fed 13 people and a bunch had seconds too!!!!!😁😁

For struggling people, I suggest learning how to make white sauce. To my white sauce I add some Knorr chicken bullion granules. Much cheaper than can soups as a casserole base. However for crock pots or freezers only use can soup. This is because homemade doesn't hold up beyond stove cooking. For the $1.20 spent on cans, I need flour/margarine/salt/pepper/chicken bullion granules. Google casserole white sauce. We make our chicken and dumplings Amish style. I make homemade egg noodles very fast and cheap. Cut them into big squares with pizza cutter. Cheaper than can biscuits. Flour, egg yolk, salt, water. 5 pounds flour still only $3.00. Goes very far!

(we add colby cheese!😁😋). Ham and eggs, rag grits cook a pot of grits and scramble 3 or eggs in a bowl. pour in the grits while you are stirring the grits and its done really fast. Iv made Chicken n dumplings like this for years, sometimes I'll make the dough, but it's easier just to use Biscuits. Yummy

Hi! I saved my old bread and made croutons instead of throwing it away! I cut bread in cubes, sprinkled oil on them and toasted them in the oven. I crumbled up some day old cornbread and mixed it with croutons and made dressing! Dressing was really good! I served it with pork chops and gravy and roasted brussel sprouts! Waste not want not!!!

Every time I see you make that chicken soup and biscuits thing I literally yell at the screen “that’s not food!” But there were positive comments so I decided I needed to try it before I continued to judge it. And I made myself do it just like you did (because of course I thought I knew better). And it is indeed quite tasty, much better than I imagined- comfort food. I expect to be hungry in a short time but maybe I’ll be wrong about that too.

I sometimes make the chicken and dumplings in the slow cooker with a can of chicken and some frozen or canned mixed veggies if it’s in the budget.

I have the chicken and rice crockpot meal in the crock pot I only set it for 6 hours since it’s 1:30 am. I added a few carrots cut small and only half an onion because it was what I had cut up. I had thin sliced chicken breast so I cut them up in little bite sized pieces. It’s just me so I like to have a meal for several days
