I have very thick hair too and if I try to curl it, no matter how long I let it rest or how much product I use to set it, the curls are gone in under an hour. Even several hair stylists tried to curl my hair a way that the curls actually stay, but if never works out longer than an hour. ... So having ultra thick hair that is longer than to your shoulder isn't always a "goal"

I did this and it turned out AMAZING. I have long thin, naturally straight hair. Heat protectant, a little bit of hair spray before curling each section and leaving it in a little bit longer was key for me. It also is SO adorable keeping it in a high pony! Loved this tutorial!!!

Heyy TJ I also do this, actually sometimes after straightening my hair , I twist it up in a super high bun, leave it in for a few hours or even sometimes over night. With a bit of hairspray and occasional flat iron touch up on my roots, my hair looks bomb. It’s also long now, middle of my back and super thick.

My hair is so straight that when I'm curling one section, the section I've curled before goes straight already 😂 but this is a great technique for our type of hair! 🤩

I have mid length hair, naturally straight but it is also HEAVY & THICK. You can do this heatless. Use slightly damp hair with foam candlestick like wire rollers they have them at Dollar Tree. Sleep in it wake up unroll finger comb & spray if you want. Done. I do 2 ponytails parted behind my ears. My hair is not thick but it's long. Worked beautifully.

Heatless version: I do this without heat. With hair mostly dry or all the way dry, add mouse and brush through. Do the same ponytail and section, wrap and pin just like she does but skip the curling iron. Sleep that way all night. The pony will be on top so it won't hurt to sleep in. In the morning you get the same results but no heat! 💯

@@laceymarie1274 using 2 fingers is usually the easiest way to create a pin curl with your hands, or you could even take the ponytail and use Velcro rollers overnight on just slightly damp hair. Velcro rollers are pretty fool-proof and diverse

I tried this for a date last night, omg!!!! Talk about Victoria Secret Bombshell curls!!!!! Left my hair in curls with bobby pins for like 30 minutes, but after I took them out my hair looked amazing, especially because I have very thick, long hair. I fell in love with this tutorial. Will be using this method more often in the future! Thank you! But, FYI, my curls didn't last me more than 5 hours. I think it was maybe the humidity of where I live or the weather of where I live that contributed to my curls falling off. But other than that, amazing method! You girls should really give this a try!

Thank you for the tip. I was short on time and tried this out and only had my small curler and Kirby pins to hand. I loosened the curls slightly while still hot before I pinned them and it worked so well thank you so much I will be doing this from now on. you can do the same thing just dampen the hair and curl it around 3 fingers hold it with bobby pins and leave it overnight for heatless curls make sure to use hairspray afterwards

Works wonderfully. I do 2 ponytails, 1 parted behind my ears. The tip is to pin (clip) them & allow them to completely cool. If you have very curly hair you may need to straighten it first. Mine is only slightly curly but quite long & nowhere near as thick as hers.
