Bought a new nh35 for your 4:00 crown mod or SKX007 upgrade only to discover it had a day wheel for a 3:00 crown case? Fear not, tis but a 5 minute fix!

I thought NH-35 was date only and NH-36 is date and day. NH-35 works fine for both 3 and 4 o’clock cases. NH-36 will need to replace the day wheel for a 4 o’clock case.

You're right. The NH-36 is the day-date movement. The NH-35 is day only. In the video he incorrectly says the movement is a NH35, it is a NH36.

Very interesting tutorial. I would like to ask you a question to see if you can answer a question I have. I usually see a lot of tutorials for the Seiko SKX to change a 7s26 movement for, for example, an NH36 (4R36) but I have never seen one for the SNXS... Do you know if an NH36 could be mounted in the case of an SNXS? Thank you very much in advance.

I'm just starting to mess with my watches - Monsters and SKX's and already have some new movements on order. Many of the Ali listings for NH36 movements fail to state what crown position they are set up for, so I may need to do some day wheel swapping. This was a great vid to ease my mind on that job.

In my experience on AliExpress if they don't say, it's a 3:00 movement. Good thing is there are plenty of sellers that offer the 3.8 movements!

@@ChillinwitWatches Is the colour of the plastic holder a clue? grey vs black? I'm confused about the holders and what fits what case.

@@julianb1474 the black is for Seiko brand movements, 4r35, versus the ones they sell with the gray spacer, nh35. The gray spacer is actually a bit thicker than the black, so putting in NH in the Seiko brand case is oftentimes tight.

Its 3.18 in skx.. not 4. There are cases out there with 4oclock crown as well.

I see you ment to use it with the crown at 3:18. I thought there is a date disc available to use an nh35 for a replacement of the 7002 movement in my Seiko diver from the 1980s, which has it’s crown slightly further down than the skx on a real 4 o’clock position.

3.8 is the seiko standard, you can find those, on eBay and such. 4:00 is something the Chinese brand do on their cases and you'll not find those, as they usually make them date only.

You would need custom day and date wheels. They make overlays, that you glue on in the position you need.

Love the fauxtina SKX dial & handset! I'd like to get into modding, but fear that I lack adequate dexterity with the tweezers. Unrelated, but do you have any opinions on relatively affordable Seamaster 300 style homage type watches? I'm currently looking at the Helson Sharkmaster, Borealis Estoril & some Precistas. All 3 being currently discontinued or unavailable new, but you can find them used etc. Have you owned any of these?

It will fit straight over the hour post. At the very bottom of the post it will get a little fatter, you have to push straight down over that part until the c clip settles into a little indent in the post at the very bottom.

Date should line up for either 3:00 or 4:00 crown, only the day needs replaced.

The 023 has a 3:00 crown, so no problem D long as you put a 3:00 crown NH35 is there.
