Hi Alanah! Yes, sometimes laughter does bring about tears. I've seen laughter dislodge blocked emotions and bring about tears. Also, when we scrunch up your faces during a laugh, we put pressure on your tear ducts, which can lead to tears.

It is best to practice intentional laughter and deep breathing daily and work up to at least 10 minutes at a time. You can start with just a minute of laughter and gradually increase the duration. Hope this helps!

The same concept applies to how to find happiness in your job. "Getting a new job" had a greater effect on happiness than employment status. Sometimes the laughter can dislodge blocked emotions and bring up tears. Totally normal. Don't let it discourage you. You can use the laughter as a tool to help you experience those emotions.
