5 Minutes Home Assistant RTSP Cameras Feed Installation

In this comprehensive tutorial, we guide you through the process of installing RTSP stream feeds from cameras into Home Assistant. We'll be using a Sonoff CamSlim as our example, but the principles can be applied to many other devices.

Hey Sparky, what was the problem? did you get your RTSP feed displayed ? Part two takes you through how to reduce the latency, but you need to have the RTSP feed working. What's your camera you are trying to display in HA ?

@@smart_home_australia I have the feeds working fine but it was getting the WebRTC stuff working to reduce lag that I didn't have success with. I should also apparently be able to get audio using that. I have Hikvision cameras linked to HA via the ONVIF Integration

I don't have any MIPC cameras, sorry) but doing a little investigation, Yes, MIPC cameras can be integrated into Home Assistant. There is a custom component available on GitHub that allows you to view cameras connected to a MIPC account in Home Assistant. Here are the steps: 1) Go to the Home Assistant UI and navigate to Configuration. 2) Click on Integrations. 3) Click on + Add Integration. 4) Search for mipc. 5) Complete the form with your MIPC account information. The integration will then connect to your account and import all cameras under the identifier camera.mipc_camera_{{id}} where {{id}} is the camera’s internal identifier. Remember that this integration can only load video streams from cameras added to the MIPC account. Always make sure to check the compatibility of your specific camera model with Home Assistant. Also, keep in mind that the integration is not maintained, so there might be some limitations or issues. Happy automating! 😊

In which case, sorry, but without an MIPC camera I'm not sure what the solution would be. I'll see if I can get one in for testing and if I can I'll put up a video. What brand and model is your camera?
