I really love your work. Unfortunately I am one who does not feel slow stitching is relaxing. It is hand sewing to me, and the only reason I do it is because I can control every stitch. Just wondering if anyone else sees it as purely a way to express yourself, and not as a relaxing craft.

Thanks so much for your comment Lesley. It's a great point you have made. Not everyone will find it relaxing; I don't always find it relaxing! There have been times when I've really felt quite stressed and thought there would not be much point in stitching at that time, but somehow I do, and I find it so helpful to off load any negative feelings and stress into my stitching time. I find it's such a good way to express ourselves and our feelings! I don't think it really matters whether we feel relaxed in slow stitching or not; we should take whatever we want or need from our stitching, however we want to do it, and that's where we can all benefit🙂

@OhSewMindful yes, I agree. I must say though, that your work is probably the nicest I have seen, and it looks "calm." Maybe if I stop playing rock music, and played something a bit less "frenzied" my actions might match the music.😂🤣

Others have also said that it has a "calm" feel to it, so it's nice to know! 🥰 Now, there is totally nothing wrong with listening to rock music, I love to listen to it myself, but maybe not whilst having a calm, mindful stitching session! 🤣 Mind you, I would expect your stitching to have a lot of interesting movement to it, it might be good fun to try that one day! We could experiment to see how listening to different genres of music affects how we stitch! 😂
