Perfect for me Edd, I watch on my Android 'phone. Here's a thought/question:- because I own a Japanese car again (FSH mostly main dealer), with a 9 year coolant replacement cycle, and top and bottom hoses etc in good condition etc, next year it's due a coolant change (Yr 9). 1) Do I change the hoses or leave them (they look almost new to me, they don't collapse or owt like that and the "feel" new too and the car is low mileage). I know on older Toyotas and Suzukis that their parts are VERY long lasting. 2) If I do replace the hoses are Silicon hoses better (I've read arguments for and against). Thanks in advance if you see and answer this little conundrum 🙏🤞✌️💜😊👍

@@eddchina I think it's a very good idea to make the AskEdd into seperate videos. More uploads, possibly more views. What the best schedule for the videos would be, i don't know but you can probably think of something to have regularly uploads between the AskEdd, the updates and the main episodes. From a youtuber i know a bit i understood that more videos can generate more views and that helps making some more money, which helps keeping the channel going obviously.

We need roughly 2-3 million views per episode to be self sustaining on YT or we need a constant stream of great partners or we need some kind of subscription model with a better connection than YT members or Patreon (we’re working on this behind the scenes). You can change the speed in the KZbin app on a TV. Press the Up/Down arrow. Use the Right arrow to navigate to the Gear icon and press OK/Select. Use the Down arrow to navigate to Speed and press OK/Select. Use the Up/Down arrow to navigate to the desired speed and press OK/Select. To exit press the Back/Exit/Menu key.

I enjoy the Ask Edd segments. I trued the half speed version the info was good, but the video quality was a distraction. I agree with the commenter below that a mid-week segment for Ask Edd, and a weekend projects segment would be a great solution. Two Edds in one week! WooHoo!!

Your going the extra mile to make super cool videos 😆 The high idle golf ...Connecting a scan tool and checking for codes and data< the Vw might have a bad ECT or cylinder head temp sensor , The engine computer could be going into a failure management effects strategy ,it may think its ( or it may really be )overheating thus making the engine run faster to cool itself off,

In terms of a radiator for a Range Rover, back on Wheeler Dealer's you did a radiator upgrade for a Triumph Stag, which looked a good upgrade and i assume it was successful

So much better. Much prefer #AskEdd at normal speed. Also looking forward to the EV battery repair. I'm an EV driver, and although I won't attempt this myself (mainly because I don't have a ramp to be able to drop the battery safely, this kind of knowledge is vital for making repairs economic and is something that local garages should learn as cost effective EV repairs will keep older vehicles on the road.

Initial thoughts on the EV battery repairs, sounds a lot like 'dead' laptop batteries for me (used to do comptuer repair, can't be bothered fixing them any more because of proprietary nonsense ruining repair work!), but I'll hold off on that thought 'til the video comes out... :D

Jokes aside, in one of the first episodes of this show they did say that Paul was a mute on purpose because the way the contracts worked at the time, if he spoke like Edd or Mike he'd be considered a "presenter" like they were, and thus had to be paid more. They didn't want to do that (especially in the early days of the first few seasons when they were on an actual budget), and so Paul remained the yellow van driver and the occasional helper for the bigger jobs.

He probably wasn't allowed to speak in Wheeler Dealers because then he'd have been a co-presenter not just a mechanic and they would've had to pay him more money. This is like an extra in a movie or TV show - if they speak they are promoted to an actor and have to be paid accordingly.

I cannot adjust the YT video speed on my Phillips TV, which is only 2 years old. When I do click on the settings, the only available adjustment is for the subtitles.. So depends on the TV.

Glad to see your AskEdd section up and running: I immediately jump on it asking for advice. I'm not a mechanic nor particularly able in the engine bay area, but me and my girlfriend would definitely LOVE to buy an Alfetta GT 1.8 (1974) or GTV 2.0 (1976). We're in Italy, so it's not impossible to find some for sale, even if the conditions may not be spectacular. Is it possible for total newbies like us to maintain and keep usable such a car from the '70s or will it end in a catastrophic money pit? Should we head towards more modern classics to begin with?

Ed i have a question i have a supposed 1967 Austin Healey i think a 3000,if i put an MG engine in it will it lose its value also no tin tags on frame although i have not really looked at it

That is an interesting #AskEdd, I believe the Healey would have come with a 64hp 1275cc engine and the MGA was 72hp 1489cc and the MGB was 95hp 1798 (unless you could squeeze in a 6cyl or even a V8). So I think, even though it would not be matching numbers, it could be considered an useful upgrade adding fun (but possibly weight) to a nice classic. So as long as your upgrade could be reversed without any signs of modification I think it may increase the value as a Resto mod (especially for things like extreme rallies if within the rules).

#AskEdd I think that your AskEdd stuff is fun, but I never watch it, I generally just listen to it in the background while I'm doing other things. It's like listening to a radio program and not too much like a YT video. In fact, I think you might be able to turn it into a Podcast or something instead of having it underappreciated on YT. If you remember Car Talk, you would be great for something like that where you answer questions. People really miss Click and Clack! That's a huge hole that could be filled just saying

Hey Edd, gt an import Toyota Sienta 2005 model which is just lovely and really realiable ever since we imported back in 2014. Its 10 years we wr so lucky to have bought this car however automatic CVT gearbox has gone. All mechanics we took car to recommend just swapping CVT with another donor vehicle, however we can't find any scrap yard that has this car. Its advertised on autotrader its the only 2005 model in black. We really wish we could get this car fix and would be grateful if you could give us a ring or even advise us here what the best course action to bring our car back to life. Thank You
