@TheRaceBay8 күн бұрын
From one channel to another and with the greatest respect, instead of doing 2x speed, try putting the Ask Edd bits as stand alone videos. KZbin really doesn't like a "magazine" format. And if you do anything that's got a motorsport basis, look us up. Maybe a collab potential?

Edd at half speed reminds me of that one uncle at the family Christmas party that's had a few too many... Great info as always. I agree, just leave the viscous fan in. I thought of doing this mod to my 1985 4D56T Pajero, but stuck with the viscous fan and have no issues. The .5kw gain over putting extra strain on the tiny alternator doesn't make much sense.

Indeed the double speed is not to understand what is going on and reducing it to 0.5 makes it sound a bit strange :P So if people are not interested to see the Asked they can just go and get something to drink and keep the video going.... That's what i would do but there's always something to learn so i let it run but again after having reduced the speed doesn't make it a good experience to follow or listen to....

That's interesting shape for a tie rod end on the van, I've not ever seen one shaped like it before. As far as full BEV's go I think the market is now completely saturated for people who have charging available to them (either a private garage or central charging stations), they've all already got an EV. The rest of us still have nowhere to charge one.. I would absolutely buy a hybrid though if there were more options. Believe it or not hybrids like the Prius are very very popular in rural America in places like Hot Springs Arkansas. You see quite a lot of those out in the country. That's what automakers should be focusing on right now, hybrids
@eddchina8 күн бұрын
Hybrids definitely bridge the gap. As fast charging becomes more available and range increases I think EVs charged at work or on the way will become more practical but I agree charging at home is the easiest and cheapest (if you can).
@Drmcclung8 күн бұрын
@eddchina you're definitely onto something with EV conversions, I do have an old car myself I've wanted to convert to hybrid for a good while now. I'm still looking around and waiting to see what kind of parts to do it become available as more and better solutions hit the market. When it comes to hybrid stuff I want to go the electric axle route, but it's the generator & battery section that goes over my head as far as what to choose, the power criteria and matching battery, etc. I've already chosen and acquired the engine I want to use so that's half the battle already sorted (I'm not going to use the engine currently in it!). Links, parts, I'm open to any and all suggestions

@@kodak_jack They want to run the engine out of the vehicle on a dyno. The ECU has to go with the engine to the testers, as like all modern cars, it can't function without it's brain. So they had to remove it from the vehicle it was in.
