That, for me, is the best sound it's possible to make with an electric guitar. Gibson scale length, PAFs, set neck guitar into a cranked JTM45. I don't need more gain. I don't need a tighter bottom end (except insofar as I'm getting older). I just need that.

As good as that sounds What are not saying is that sitting in that room and also being able to FEEL the amp would of been glorious. That’s what so many people who only use modeling software miss out on.......nothing can match an amp like that actually running though a guitar cab and you standing right next to it. Only that combo of things can create that sound AND feel. Great playing Leon!!!! Thanks for sharing.
@donmario60042 жыл бұрын
Absolutely a yes on the jumped channels. Let's be honest, "MOST" use cases of this amp benefit from jumping. Playing in small clubs is a perfect, and very common, example. Outdoors? Sure, I'll let mine wail creamy and smooth out of the 'top left', but for 98% of my use, and most, I think, blending brings it! And for Strats and Teles, it thickens them beautifully. Any player experienced with plexis knows you've got to roll way off on the bass as the volume swells and as you blend in the normal channel and/or volume, lest you lose dynamics. I'm no fan of muddy tone, but I'm also respectful of people's ears, so to carefully blend in some channel 2, yields the plexi's goods at much more reasonable volumes. Sure, if you can get away with playing at 2 o'clock or more, rock on, on your high treble, but for the rest of us mere mortals...well, I think I've made my point.

Man I got to agree with everybody else here, that jtm 45 sounds killer! It has really super nice articulation and clarity but hasn't really rich thick robust midrange that's super harmonic. and it's not harsh in the 2K upper mid-range area like many area like many jmp Marshalls are. 100 watt amps especially. Just sounds musical to me ❤

@PeterDad605 ай бұрын
@@Someguy-ic3mu I never said any such thing. You have misinterpreted my original comment. I'm saying that Three (3) brand new Marshall JTM45's developed problems within 10 days of receiving them. So I sent them back. My usual playing volume with my JTM45's was 3-1/2 and that was pretty loud but not overly loud. Yes I did crank them once or twice up to around 5 but that was way to loud for my home. I did that just to hear them cranked. But I never played them on 5 for more for more than a few minutes at a time as the roar was deafening and absolutely ear damaging. So I settled on 3-1/2 because that was pretty loud and had the cranked tone I love. Very sadly, each and every one of my 3 brand new JTM45's developed problems right away. I have a power regulator to protect my gear. Also I have 15 other tube amps that have never given me any problems at all. I vow to one day to purchase another Marshall JTM45 because it's the tone and sound that inspires me. This time if it develops a problem I will send it back for repair instead of a refund. I want, I need a Marshall JTM45 in my life. Every amp I own I dial in as close to the JTM45 sound but none of them can get that exact sound. I play every day-all day long and then I play while in by bed. - Peter age 74
