As a Christian, I can't help but commend professionals that share their expertise. Of all the how to's I've ever watched of any category whatsoever, the procedures and precautions given out here, go beyond doing a decent job, but are enough to save a person from injury - thanks for an exceptional video!.

As a non-Christian (non- organized religious actually), I cannot help but pay tribute to those who share their expertise. Of course, whether I am a religious person or not is irrelevant to enjoying and benefiting from your excellently informative videos.

Nice job… it’s always helpful to get a refresher although I was never an electrician I was a lineman so I often act like a know-it-all… except for codes

Wires need to be twisted before using a wire nut? Are you sure?
@upgradeyourhomediy8 ай бұрын
While not all wire nut packages say to do so, I find it best to pre-twist to ensure a good connection. I had to fix a poor connection in a wire nut in our house that could have been prevented by pre-twisting.

(1) If the package instructions say to pre-twist, then you have to, b/c code says to always follow manufacturer instructions. (2) If package instructions don't say, then you don't have to, but it's still best practices to pre-twist (and then cut off the end with lineman's pliers to make a pointy end if the end is a "Y"). (3) If you don't pretwist, then the definitely need to twist the nut so much that the insulated part of the wires twist around each other. (4) Whether twisting or nut, tug on each wire when you're done to make sure the connection is strong.

At my job we are allowed to use those non contact meters only for testing for the presence of voltage but forbidden to use them in absence of voltage testing. Too unreliable. Two step you missed for absence of voltage testing is testing the meter on a known good live circuit both before and after the absence of voltage testing to make sure the meter is working and still working after the test.
