I think the overly flexible tip is a very good one. I had played zenyatta on and off for a while in OW1 but never did very well. Then I decided I was going to actually get good with him and played him exclusively for hours and hours and the effect that had on my aim was incredible. When I’d mix in other hero’s it would distract me from mastering his mechanics and play-style. With any projectile hero you really have to get used to their rhythm. Getting comfortable with Zens fire rate and projectile speed was crucial. He’s not a character I could just pick up and put down. You have to devote serious time to him up front and stick with him to keep your mastery. If you go a while without coming back to him your aim will be terrible until you get that muscle memory/coordination back
@allstarwoo42 жыл бұрын
My opinion maybe you’re not good projectile aiming. I learned a while ago I hate hitscan. The reason being is it goes against my instinct of leading shots and constantly adjusting your aim. Hit scan you literally just point and shoot. So maybe play more projectile character and get use to adapting on the fly or commit to hit scan. I know some people I can out duel as Zen, Lucio or Genji but if you put me on any hit scan I’m way less effective.

The worst thing in this game is you literally won’t win at all if your tank is bad
@TheRealOGHaze2 жыл бұрын
It’s incredibly difficult. I had a game last night with someone who choose rammatra, the first thing they did was shield the spawn door and poke. They literally didn’t try leave spawn for 2 minutes. I already knew it was a done deal before that. Meanwhile the other tank was being aggressive and taking space. We moved that payload about 10 feet.

I also have a tip for all classes. Learn the ins and out's of your character. Know their strengths, weaknesses and kit. For example if you main widow, don't jump in on the enemy team and spray, it won't be effective. Instead know where you can position to get the most value from sniping and when to use you abilities. Sorry that's not a good example but I've seen people play widow in this way. I hope this helps someone.

As a support, we had an Orisa once who as bap, I put an immortality field down, I was throwing grenades at him, an out ana threw a grenade on him and was pumping him with shots and a bastion turret still killed him. He pinged the chat with “how about I get some healing?” Of course but you can totally kill a double pocketed tank if they’re an idiot for sure

Referring to the “you’re not in charge” portion, it really depends. Okay there’s other 4 players and all but if your team is clueless of what’s going on or what to do next obviously you’re not gonna just sit there and do nothing because “I’m not in charge”. Sometimes you’re team just needs someone to take charge doesn’t matter who it is and come up with plays or help someone get where they’re supposed to be and get the team in the same page.

I warmup my hitscan by playing non hitscan. =) When you have to get that competitive feel for game speed first them you can track them better later. There needs to be a damage done to tank and damage done by ult as separate data for teammates to better gauge their dps.

I honestly think, these tips are very very applicable to all roles. As a tank main, yeah I can go Winton and create space but in solo queue I might be out of LOS or team being zoned by an any dps with high pick potential. Also as a support, ana kiri and more, shoot tank or look at their back line? As Lucio you are forcing peel but are you getting picks? I learnt a lot as a tank player from this video

You can emulate all of the projectile weapons in aim labs I'm pretty sure. A lot of OW players like myself come from non fps backgrounds and I found aimlabs to me immensely helpful for my aim. You can also use the sensitivity randomizer to continually improve your flicking and tracking.

I wasn't going to comment anything negative. But mills doesn't have great aim, and imo aimtrainer definitely does help, if you do it even a little everyday
@yippeeyip47642 жыл бұрын
@@Barrels_VODS I think mills’ point is not that it’s bad, but that aimlab trains raw mechanical aim, but Overwatch has VERY unique aim mechanics (no accuracy loss with movement/air), as well as so many different heroes with different hitboxes, movement, etc. This makes raw mechanical aim less applicable to in game scenarios than it would be in a game like CS:GO, where it’s always the same hit box and you are standing still or strafing and stopping for shots.

Great video but I never understood the disliking toward aim trainers when it comes to Overwatch. It’s a great way to warm up and improve natural aim. I understand it’s always better to practice in-game, but you can always use the trainer to focus on pure mechanics if you feel like you’re lacking in that area.
@fungithefungi33312 жыл бұрын
I wont use tip one yet because of this reasoning of mine. My winrate is between 60 and 75% on both tank and dps. So as i see it i will rank up eventually, i just dont have time to do it fast so i dont take time to train. But if i get closer to 50% i will do this more. But whenether i get time over i do look at these videos to improve and work on my mentality on the game.

The problem is new overwatch players who play dps sucks badly. They keep focusing on the enemy tank like as if they can one shot the tank like it's valorant or COD. You guys should focus on flanking and killing the supports, no point saying "ohh Reaper is a tank killer I should focus on tank" when the tank keep getting pocket by the supports.

im sorry but if you think kovaaks doesnt have a drastic improvement on your aim, you've clearly never heard of voltaic. hit master/grandmaster in the benchmarks using the daily routines and you will be slapping people in any fps you choose.
@Lp0tr332 жыл бұрын
I disagree on your opinion on not flanking (forcing attention). Most of the time, this is a must. It creates an advantage in two places. Cass, Reaper, Pharah, Moira, Tracer and Sombra are really good at flanking for advantage. You want to surprise and eliminate one or two supports or just be a pest to grab attention. If two or more enemy players start having to focus only you then your team will have a numbers advantage on the main fight 100% of the time. This is not to be confused with tanks flanking, because then it would be a battle on which tank flanks better. There have been a few times where I have killed one or two and died but have the spawn advantage and my team just didn't move out of spawn (beginning of King's Row, Blizz World, etc and the one with the bells at spawn that had its name changed).

a lot of this wasnt for DPS just everyone as a whole. TEAM based game, widow nailing every headshot means nothing if the team doesnt move with that. gengo blade team wipe means nothing the team just sit there not push up to take space. tank making ground while the backline get stomped, etc. you see the team comp vs theirs and try to play around their weakness and your team strengths. the issuue is you get brain deads, i have done this so i am not the issue YOU ARE. see it so much, hitscan gets owned by pharah/echo, swap to junk so thats not their problem to deal with, then try to blame support or tank for losing. excuse making at the finest and why that player will get hard stuck. you ignore that and swap to (something you can play to counter, you cant counter everything but if you can you change to fill thier gap) the bigest thing is to stop trying to pass the buck on to someone else. what you do for the team is more important then your big plays that do not help your team win

Good video overall, but I have to take issue with the sentiment that "you're never under pressure in an aim trainer." You most certainly are. Aim trainers are still video games. Grinding for a high score in an aim trainer is still grinding for a high score, and the entire point of the game is to get higher scores over time. This is like saying you're never under pressure when you're speedrunning a game. Your main conclusion on the topic is correct, but this is not a supporting argument. You can make the point that an overemphasis on aim training is detrimental to in-game progress without dismissing an entire hobby because you're not personally interested in it.
@coach_mills2 жыл бұрын
I meant pressure that replicates in-game Overwatch pressure. Not all pressure is felt the same nor does it affect you in the same way because in Overwatch when you receive pressure you have tons of options. To move, to aim, to move and aim, to use an ability, ETC. That pressure is not similar at all to the pressure you receive in aim trainers trying to get a high score. I have zero problems with aim trainers as hobbies just not for legitimized mechanical improvement inside Overwatch or most FPS games for that matter.
@EMcG_Kovaaks2 жыл бұрын
@@coach_mills Not to get too pig-headed with it here, but all this tells me is that you haven't spent enough time in aim trainers to be making statements about them one way or the other. Not only do you have all those opinions available to you in aim trainers if you really want a 1:1 experience (people have way too much time on their hands), chasing the 1:1 experience is not the point of an aim trainer. It is to learn general mouse control. Competing for leaderboard spots is functionally identical to competing for ranks, and you in do, in fact, feel the same pressure. It's the same pressure I feel when I ladder in StarCraft II. If you have never felt that pressure in an aim trainer, all that means is that you have not played enough of an aim trainer to have felt pressured by one. Again, your general conclusion is mostly correct. This is simply not a supporting argument.
