My favorite wash day tip would be to wear a plastic cap and deep conditioning cap when conditioning your hair. It helps the conditioner penetrate into the hair more effectively. I like to do this with my leave-in conditioners as well.

Thank you once again Ms Tanya. Always great. My one tip: detangle only with my fingers. I don't use and haven't used a brush or comb on my hair for two years. I take time to use my fingers like a comb. I make my own Henna, fenugreek, Kalonji deep treatment, stream every week when i wash and wash on the same day every week without fail. My hair has grown longer than my friends who started their natural journey before me. No comb, two strand twist. Game changer.

Hey Hey fam. The best thing I started to do is wash my hair in twist and only free my section of hair when I'm applying deep conditioner. I'm doing the cabbage patch dance at this point. I didn't trust this method until I found the best shampoos and deep conditioners and leave-ins for my hair and my diy. Some shampoos seem to tangle my roots, even when it's detangled in twists. Thank you for the video.

As a licensed hairstylist I just Looovvee your channel so so much. I love that since you're actually qualified to advise people on how products will work with their hair you're not misleading them because like you said, not everything applies to everyone. There's been too many occasions where I'll have a client who "learned" something about hair or followed a hair trend on YT without understanding why it may or may not work with their hair, it may be misleading, and sometimes completely inaccurate. Even though I know and understand the science of hair your videos have even help me. There's been things that I never new before, thanks to you. I appreciate all of the info you share.

@Ari Li - when doing an oil rinse , do so after your hair final rinse. Next, gradually massage your scalp, aim to air dry hair for about 15 minutes then proceed to L(light spritz)O(do not add more oilC(seal strands with your chosen product like leave in cream or a bit of shea). If you need to dry your strands do so on low settings or if twisting do so. Happy hair journey

Thanks to you I never go through a wash day without pre pooing the night before. My refresh days are so much easier because my hair stays smoother, and more hydrated. My hair was below the shoulder and now just below my ears, because of telegen effluvium. It's too short to do praying hands, any other suggestions? Figuring out how to style and/or sleep with my new texture has been difficult. Most bonnets too big now and it is much to short to put on top of my head. My wavy curly hair is now much curlier and starts directly at the roots. Most of my curls grow towards my face now! Very strange and quite an adjustment, to say the least. Have you heard of this before, if so, any help? Thank you for your videos and easy to understand tips.

I am seeing some brands that have a "moisturizing/conditioning shampoo" where the instructions say to apply to scalp and hair. Have you seen this? Should these shampoos be applied to the hair?

I’m not familiar with oil rinsing. Do you do that if you are going to deep condition? Do you do it after rinsing out the DC?

Yes! It would be your last step, you don’t have to do it every wash day only on the days when you want that extra softness.

I have fine high porosity hair so when my hair is soft, it can feel quite weak as well. I've recently discovered that argan oil products improve my hair moisture levels. Is there anything you recommend for adding protein to improve the strength of my hair?

My hair is the same and loooves argan oil too. I used ORS hair Mayonnaise and Aphogee's ketatin and green tea restructurizer (sprays like a leave in)

@@Abc17890 I've been searching for the ORS Mayonaise for awhile but so far, I haven't found any. as for Aphoghee, I saw some online but since it's imported, it's quite expensive. I live in Ghana so it's hard finding products. I'm currently giving Ghana-made products a try to see what they can do for me.
