I think it was mostly sour grapes... console and official players weren't able to use mods in ASE, so they told themselves that mods were cheating and it was more pure somehow to play without them. I'm a big proponent of mods and always have been... believe me I've heard it all.

@@SongbirdGaming I switched from Console to PC after Skyrim dropped BECAUSE of mods. I seen what modders were doing and HAD to get me some of that action. Since then I've not looked back. I can understand wanting mods but hating those that use them (especially on another platform) is just nuts to me.

The backpacks mod is essential for immersion for me, doesnt make sense to carry 600lbs worth of stuff and not have a bag of some kind, and since the backpack doesnt take up a gear or hotbar slot to use its a must for me. Also if you want a sick mod Ark Wardrobe Mod is amazing as well, multiple very well done skin outfits that you can craft at its own table and look awesome lol

I really hate the Ark Additions, while the dino they add are cool and great, they seem to seriously over spawn, you end up with Ocean full of Archelons and little room for anything else to spawn, and all the low level 'fairly safe' herbivore zones get infested with armies of Ceraosaurus just killing everything, with nothing wild being able to fight back against them

That's kind of how I found it in ASE to be honest, they're all endgame creatures so they kind of overpower the area. Glad to know it's not just me :D

Check out Primal Survival mod. its bringing ark back to its primitive roots.(Reviving Primitive Plus but TRUE primitive) Also has natural disasters, like meteor showers, sandstorms, tornados and more coming. including hurricanes.

One of the most worth mod in ASE was Death recovery mod (Tombstone). Even now when the ASA is full of bugs and you can often die randomly in textures..

Another FYI. The compost bin needs 3 turds and thatch to make one fertilizer. If you have only 2 turds in one, it won't matter how much that you have on one. I recommend 6 turds and 2 stacks thatch. Come back later for 2 fertilizer. Yes they do take a long time. 😢

Misses the best one in my opinion: Pilex's Structures. With it u can change craftfing speed, max slots, remove fabricator's sound and muh more for almost all workbenchs of the game (forge, mortar, smith, fabricator and many others)

Don't hold your breath. PlayStation is notoriously bad for allowing mods you won't get half of the mods that PC and Xbox will get just like Skyrim and Fallout. Ps didn't get legacy of the dragon born half of the weapon and map mods. Sadly it's the truth

Tested the Cryo Mod, its garbage. In some cases it will kill your tame in the cryopod. This alone makes this mod absolutly worthless if you cant trust the mods absolute basic feature. The terminal's settings won't update most of the time. Engrams randomly vanish, making you unable to use the Cryo stuff, which also makes you unable to use your cryoed tames. Good thing our community has a test server to test this stuff.

There's sooo many cryo mods and there's been a lot of problems of this nature with all of them, I tested through a bunch and this was one of the few that didn't give me any bugs, possible I was just lucky. Chose this one specifically due to the baby pickup. Hopefully all of them manage to find a way past the creature issues soon.

Poke balls were broken, on multiplayer, your tribe mates that didn’t have access to Dino’s could die or give away Dino’s . Got raided from within three times before quitting and finally went back to single player

I guess it's upto the mod maker if a mod comes to console or not. And I guess for now nitrado won't be supporting mod maps. Seems like we won't get as many mods on console as we thought which sucks.

Is there a way to add mods directly through the game files? Like not using the ingame menu? Other games have a Mods folder where you just drop mods but for asa doesnt seem to work

I've not tried exploring them via download, only through the in-game menu, but the mods are stored in Steam\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64\ShooterGame\Mods\ if you want to give it a go :)

saved servers from dino caps too. cryo balsl were amazng and should have been in base game now. now the servers wil cap. esp on these higher RATES wildcard is dishing out. and giant bases that are NEEDED because of the dinos everyone has to keep out in their bases.

Official runs with no mods and default rates, for unofficials they're set by the server owner. For trying mods yourself you'll need to play Single-player I'm afraid.

What did you lose? It says it wipes all items made before install and if you Uninstall it wipes all items made. It's does so because it's needs to use different values in the items that can't be changed later.
