He's grown on me a bit since his early work on bits between radio segments when they first started putting stuff on KZbin. Most of it was cringey. Now if they would get rid of that unlikable nepotism hire Cruz, they'd be headed in the right direction

They are quick to approve you for a student loan because you can't escape it even if you file bankruptcy. Its also a large loan you apply for early in life, so they have decades to collect from you. Pay off your student loans.

I did a double diploma degree (looked useful st that time, my parents payed for me) and just after I have graduated I have received an email from one of the universities I was taking curriculum from offering me a traing for job interviews or cv or something (that I needed to pay for) to be more employable..... I normally don't reply to newsletters but this one made me a little annoyed. So I have replied. How dare they! That is so shameless. Could they include this in their curriculum when I was their student ? Nope, they wanted me to pay for that separately.

It's simple: The reason 18 year olds can take out student loans is that they can not be discharged in bankruptcy. Therefore there is no risk, to the lender, only to the borrower. In a traditional loan, the lender takes on risk to give you the money because you can stop paying, then declare bancruptcy. Its also why home loans, and car notes have lower interest rates, the bank can take that property back, and still sue over the remaining deprecated value, unless you declare bankruptcy.

When my husband just finished medical school with $355k med loans, and was still in residency (so still had no money), his medical school started asking for donations... They didn't even give him time to finish training before they were asking for more money when his tuition was already almost 70k/year there....

And if they make enough, we allow them to deduct that donation from their income for tax purposes, which reduces tax revenue available for education.

I remember going to this stand-up comedy show on a cruise where this guy was envious of his white friends. "I remember being jealous of all my white friends in high school. They were all born with a 750 credit score. As soon as they turned 18, their mail boxes were full of pre approval credit card offers from capital one, American express, etc... As soon as I turned 18, my mailbox was full of pre-rejection letters! Y'all ever get letters from Chase Bank saying, 'Don't even bother applying.'" The entire audience, dying of laughter: "No!" Comedian: "Man, this some bull$%!+"
