I 100% agree that the glimmer glass is far superior to the black pro mist. I recently purchased the Black Satin Tiffen filter (still waiting on it to arrive) because it was more in the centre of the Halation expansion, Contrast, and Resolution reduction "triangle of diffusion" they have for all of their filters.

Never heard of black satin but it sounds cool, I’ll have to get one to try!

thank you so very much for putting the gear used at the bottom so we can see results when you show images

Glad you've had good luck with Urth adapters. I looked at them on Amazon until I saw "frequently returned item", which could mean anything, so I bought a Viltrox EF to L-mount AF adapter. Hopefully, it's amazing.

Usually that just means people buy them to test a lens out, hate the lens they’re testing then return the adapter. I’ve seen that tag on all sorts of products and it’s usually not indicative of the quality of the product (sometimes it is) but rather because some people just love to try stuff out then return it to Amazon haha I’ve heard great things about the viltrox adapter, apparently it’s almost as good as the sigma MC-21, but none of the Urth adapters are for modern lenses anyway as they don’t support AF.

@@rudermanphoto I'm just out on a limb with so few L-mount telephoto lenses and the 180mm f/3.5 + the Viltrox adapter were under US$500, which worked for me until Panasonic or Sigma come up with new lenses.

I use a cheap insulated lunch bag when I bring extra gear it because it's padded and it's less of a target for theft

A hand strap is a must. But I need a new solution as the bottom of the strap has seperated and inner layer has started to tear around 2 or 3 mm on Peak Design Microclutch. I used it since summer 2023.

Black glimmer glass is even better

i prefer tiffen smoque personally, but everyone has their own preferences, i find the black pro mist to be too sterile and cool in color, i prefer the smoque as its a great warming glow

Hey bro. It’s been a while since you posted an actual portraiture or photography video. Your last one was 4 months ago. I was really into your “craft” and it seems like your videos lately have taken the more technical and gear-oriented route. Any plans of posting more photography-centric videos?
@rudermanphoto6 күн бұрын
Yeah, I have a photography roadtrip planned down the coast this month which will result in a photography focused video as well as a studio photography tips video planned for next month, just harder to organise the big photography videos especially with work and other commitments during the week and still try to keep a consistent upload schedule, but I’ll be making more in the future absolutely :)

Look at the shadows! That’s where you see the difference most.
