I am so happy that I discovered your channel! I am getting ready to do a full-home renovation and I have learned so much from your videos. You are beautiful, elegant, so smart and extremely talented. Thank you for doing what you do and for sharing your phenomenal work with us. I only wish that you weren’t all the way in Canada. I live in Georgia-USA and would hire you in a second!

Thank you for such a straightforward and common sense approach to countertops and the popular stones. I really appreciate sharing examples actually used in your own home. While I’ll probably never have a dedicated pizza house, it’s so fun to see. And the pictures of the stone quarries really brings home the reality of these beautiful materials and their sources (plus, the importance of planning). Can’t wait for your next video!

It would be very interesting to hear how you did transition from modeling to interior design, you have such an in-depth knowledge of everything related to this field. Did you get formal training?

Super accurate and informative video! I am saving this video and sending my clients to watch this one as you go over all the pros and cons accurately!! The only issue with some lighter quartzites is that some fabricators do not know how to manage it and when they cut it with the laser water jets it can push water deep into the stone and then they seal it and over time the water will seep out creating awful looking dark spots or dark edging. I have Taj and Sea Pearl. Taj is better stone in my opinion over the Sea Pearl and not as troublesome. I love quartzite for most applications. The newest trend here in Metro Atlanta is solid Porcelain. More modern and sleek. I am a traditionalist and love real natural stone over any manmade. I have marble (Calcutta and Fantasy Brown) and granite and of course quartzite in my personal home. Each one has their beauty. The Europeans feel the etching/staining etc. add to the value. It is just us North American's who have issues with this. Man-made Quartz is not an option for me because I love to cook and I would ruin the counter with my hot pots and it would flash all over. I always tell folks to grab a piece of what they love and test it for themselves.

Thank you Miriam, I am so happy I watched this video. We had Calcutta marble natural stone counters/island in our kitchen 13 years ago. I have had it honed once-still looks fabulous however it is because I am not a big cook lol. Two years ago we had installed Calcutta marble natural stone throughout the foyer, hall, and formal dining room. I am going to order the products in this video that you have recommended and cant wait to apply it. I love your style and will go back and binge watch your previous videos for inspiration as we are getting ready to have the guest bathroom remodeled. Thank you again.

We recently installed Quartzite in our kitchen . Love how it pairs with stainless appliances , cream cabinets and wood and copper accents as it has all those color tones in it . I think it is one of the most versatile materials in durability and color compatibility. I highly recommend this material . Thanks for the informative videos !

Hello. We are buying a new house and have selected Taj Mahal quartzite. We are older and this is our forever home. As long as we keep the countertops sealed, we should be ok? Do you think we need to have a company come to professionally seal the counters twice a year?

for most people top quality quartz is probably the best option for all around performance and beauty. Stains or scratches can be buffed out with a little elbow grease and thats why it does not need to be sealed.
