A cheap alternative to flowers is to cut some greenery from the garden and put it in a vase. With trial and error one learns which greenery offcuts work and combine better. The benefit is that there is something fresh and natural in the room. To my mind it's nicer than faux flowers because it brings in a personal touch.

Your channel and videos resonate with me so much. I do employ most of these tips in every day life and enjoy every single one of them. I love luxe, not necessarily expensive, but little things that make life luxurious. Dressing up, even on most casual days, is a must for me , mental health and motivation. Loved this video Miriam! I love to use my fine china dinnerset and teaset whenever I can. I love fresh flowers throughout my home. Most come from my garden. Eating at the dining table is a must, too many people eat casually in the living room with their plates on their knees. No!! I like to move things around from room to room to give a fresh look. I've been making a real effort to use our fine china and stemware for dinner even though it has to be hand washed, the biggest detriment to its use, as I'm the dishwasher! A few inexpensive luxuries are music and scent. Although I love candles, I don't want any extra heat in my south Florida home, so I set up a diffuser with a lemongrass scent when I make my morning coffee. We recently had a home sound system installed so it's easy for us to change our music to suit our moods and time of day. But, before we did that, I used music channels on the tv or KZbin on my computer to have music in my home. When I'm doing housework or exercising, I love to rock out to Tina Turner or Santana. I might listen to Bossa Nova while enjoying a pre-dinner drink, even if it's sparkling water. During dinner, we usually choose jazz. Music and scent are cheap ways to add ambiance. Your videos are very inspirational.
