This was great! A very interesting take on moving lines, and one that I think works in many ways. I particularly enjoy the focus on doing things “my” way, as in developing a personal relationship with all of these aspects of the Yijing. Excited to learn more about your take on line positions. Very helpful and well explained. For some time I tended to believe that the moving lines and the new hexagram that it produced indicated the "future" of the situation. I'm slowly realizing it's not precisely that way

Just like to have your thought on this, where you interpret when there is a changing line, it indicate "unbalance", but since the changing line are derived either a "6" or "9", which is the max. of yin or yang, is it simply saying, this line reaches or is reaching or has reached to the max. of the cycle, it will change to the opposite force?

That is what it might be saying yes. If you see 6 & 9 like that, what does it mean to you in an interpretation?

Harmen Mesker. In (21:47) Is the first time I see that you can combine the mobile lines of DIFFERENT trigrams (line 2, 5, 6 in the example) to create a new trigram. I think it is an arbitrary element that you add now, because in your other writings on blogs are more important the nuclear, the baoti, or simply the mutation of unbalanced trigrams, but maintaining a certain logic and coherency. What would happen then if they were 1, 2, 4, 5 mobile lines and not just 3? You could not form additional trigrams by joining them. Not sense What bibliography supports the creation of a new trigram from movable lines of different trigrams? Overall good video, very instructive.

You could definitely make trigrams with 4 or more moving lines: it would work the same way as nuclear trigrams. In your example you would get a trigram from 1, 2, 4 and a trigram from 2, 4, 5. So you would have 2 trigrams that consist of moving lines. There is no bibliography for it - it is my own method and I added it to the interpretation because I found it useful. It helps me to condense the moving lines to a general theme. But if you don't like it you can throw it away :-)

Thank you Kevin. I am working on my own Yijing translation but that might take 10 years or more to finish (and I am saying that for about 6 years now.) I first need to finish my book on Wenwang Gua. After that I will have more time for my translation/text research work.
