A nice video and list! Here are some other ideas outside of Quintana Roo. Go see Mérida the capital city of the Yucatán state. Mérida is the safest city in México, the safest city in Latin America, and the second safest city in the Americas behind Quebec City Canada; that means that Mérida is safer than EVERY US city. Amazing city; art, culture, music, food, history. Go see Izamal, a small city with 15,000 occupants in Yucatán, it is 45 miles east of Mérida. Climb the Kinich Kakmó and see the beautiful view of city and surrounding area from its peak. Tour the amazing Convento de San Antonio de Padua. Progreso is a nice beach with way less tourists than those in the Riviera Maya, while you are there see the El Corchito nature reserve and see the iguanas, boa constrictors, small crocs, and crowds of raccoons and a band of coatis. Go to Celestun to see the flamingos Travel to las Coloradas for the red Laguna Rosa or the salt production or the flamingos. Go see a Hacienda! Eat at Hacienda Xcanatun and ask for a tour. Visit Hacienda Sotuta de Peon (& cenote) for the day. Go to Campeche to see the famous walled pirate city.

Love the video and places you recommended :) We are thinking of Mexico or maybe Asia again next year, but more backpacking sort of style! Hey Karina! We're totally with you on the "keeping up"-thing 😆 (answering comments after 1 month 🙈). Yes, for Yucatan we'd totally recommend backpacking style (not so easy with all the resorts etc. but possible to find some hidden gems). So awesome Carl is scuba diving in Nusa Lembongan! Just saw your stories, hope your cold is getting better quickly. Let us definitely know how you liked Bali's underwater world 💙! Wishing you some beautiful encounters (also while snorkelling 💦). Hello! We are actually flying into Cancun at the end of October, and are planning to go out and explore beyond the crowded resort areas. Which of these do you recommend the most for us to do? And is there anything you didn't get a chance to do that you really wished you had? Any help you can give us is appreciated! Excellent video yet again, you two... 😀
@bugsandbears5 жыл бұрын
Awesome to hear, you'll have a great time there for sure! It depends what you're interested in, but visiting a couple of different cenotes for swimming and snorkeling is definitely a must in our opinion. If we had a little more time, we would have visited more cenotes, as they're so unique, only found there and the water is unbelievably clear. Calakmul was by far our favorite Mayan site, as it's so remote and nestled in a beautiful jungle. We found the most beautiful beaches a little South of Tulum and would definitely recommend to visit Bacalar's lagoon as well. Don't hesitate to drop us a line, if you have any further questions 😀!
@GoTravelOnTheCheap5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! We already have a few centoes on our list...we will most likely PM you on FB... I have been to this area before many a time via cruises, but this is my first time flying in and my first since I started our travel vlog
