What are your favourite dive accessories to dive with? (As many safe divers have pointed out, I did not mention a DSMB until later in the video, the safety marker or safety sauasage is a compulsory piece of safety gear you most certainly need for every dive!!)

Having a slate and pencil is a good way to communicate and record key points of the dive outside of hand signals

Have you done a video about how to get started with your diving career(like for me I'm 13 but I want to go to college and study marine biology and get out in the ocean, etc)? If you haven't, could you please make a video about that if you can? You don't have to if you don't want to of course! Also, I just recently discovered your channel and I just want to say you are so helpful! I learned a lot from the videos that I have watched so far!! Keep up the great work!

Any redundancy is a good idea, spare mask, a cutter as well as a knife, 7 lt. pony tank, bottom timer, spare reel and spare DSMB, IMO. Slates are often very useful too. I would add a key point to only take any other gear you need for the dive and not take everything so you end up looking like a Christmas tree 🙃

I do like the Christmas tree look though... haha! Great accessories here!

Hey Katt, ever thought about recording an entire dive and uploading it pretty much uncut (except for parts that show other people on the boat or something). I would love to see that :)
@OceanPancake

I could definintely do that :) Thanks for the idea

Great list of must-haves! I'd also add in a DSMB or SMB and a Reflective Signal Mirror. 2 great things to have if you're ever floating out there and are looking to be found. 😃
@OceanPancake
@OceanPancake 3 жыл бұрын
I did not mention a DSMB as it is compulsory to dive with, and I consider it as part of my standard equipment while these were more 'extra things'. I do like the reflective mirror signal though! Should get myself one

Sweetie been watching a lot my of videos today and they have been interesting, I see you are passionate about diving and helping other people to become divers, but when I saw your dive tool collection I was very disappointed on how you maintain them, do yourself a favor and buy a new one and start over maintaining it just because it is a important part of your dive kit. I hope to see you maintain your other dive kit in very good working condition. Remember you dive knife is your tool to get you out of trouble. Keep the great job on keeping the oceans clean, its not our planet we are only visitors here after all they been here longer then us. Thank you and may God Bless you and keep you safe on every dive you do. 🇺🇲👌🏼❤

Good list (with indeed the compulsory SMB). I would definitely add a hood / hooded vest for the cold, lots of people hate them but it's the thing that helps the most aside from a thicker suit in my opinion.

Yes! That's a great point! Hoods really change the game when you are cold

Tech diver here... Lights aren't just for seeing... They're for talking, and for being seen! They should *always* be out, day or night. Think of it like running lights on a car. When following my buddy, I make a point of keeping the spot of my light in their field of view at all times. This way, even if they cannot see me, they can see the smooth, stable motion of my light and know I'm okay. My first time using a well-focused spotlight style light was a game changer. World's best fish-pointer!! I'd really, really suggest the splurge. I'd recommend a Halcyon Flare EXP. Definitely a big investment, but you'll never want to dive without it again.

I only disagree in one point. Number one should be a DSMB I never dive without one.

I agree with you, Katt said that the DSMB is compulsory, which is why it is omitted from this video - see 7:16

Hey Katt, you had the video about Orca Torch. I am working with UPS now. Driver helper. So I purchased a Sherwood led light. Bright. Has a strobe setting. And is rechargeable. They do get warm when running. Found out I can use it as a heat pack on the cold days inside my jacket.

Standard GUE equipment configuration is: a primary light, two backup lights, compass, dive computer (just needs to measure depth and time), SMB and spool, cutting device, backup mask, and wet notes. I would say all of that is considered "must have" and I don't do a dive without them.

Hello Katt. I get the point of the Gloves and Knife. I saw some of the Gauge Consoles that came with one. Wouldn't it make sense to have the scissor looking one on the BC as well?

If you're diving shallow like 30 feet or less, you're well within no decompression limits and know your time underwater, it's not mandatory. Deeper dives, I would highly recommend it..or at least be with a buddy who has one
