PIP's are meant to mainly gather evidence to fire you down the road, especially when your boss does not like you as a worker or person. Get out before you have to check YES on the job application under Asked to Resign.

In my case it was legal retaliation for standing up for myself. If you get one....just move on to a new company. You'll be better off.

I was forced to go through the PIP process and was dismissed, it absolutely destroyed my career and years of hard work. Do not fall for the improvement lies you will never improve enough, it is about gathering evidence to fire you. In my personal opinion, you have two options to get a job elsewhere and leave before you are sacked or find valid evidence to quit and claim constructive dismissal.

Was offered a PIP on my last job. Knew my situation would turn into what you described. They offered me two options - (A) working the PIP for 45 days or (B) finishing up my current projects for a week and then keeping me on the books for 7 weeks as an employee with the time being mine to look for another job. I opted for option B. Not only that - I ended up with a new job paying $15K more than my previous employer was paying me. Corporate can suck it. Look out for yourself. Right now the media is throwing out the term "The Great Resignation". I don't think this is accurate. They need to be calling it "The Employee Renaissance". Employees have realized they don't have to put up with trash bosses as they can find work elsewhere, work freelance and/or start their own business. At this point in time the employees control the cards and not the employers. Let's all keep it going as long as we can /forever.

Micromanagement, listening to employees conversations, looking over emails, monitoring comfort breaks, wanting to know where you been and who you've been to see caused stress and lead to me being served with a PIP. Who was to blame?

is there a PIP for employer that an employee can initiate? And if employer doesn't improve the employee then sues them. Example: stop harassment or bullying.

hate to sound discriminatory but she looks/sounds like someone in HR you would get called into a meeting with, next thing you see your boss there, and she starts off the conversation with I'm ____ from HR, nice to meet you, we're here to discuss your performance, you're not meeting expectations, and then lets your Manager chime in. After that your manager leaves and she asks you a bunch of questions like if you thought your job was in jeopardy, etc.

The only things HR does is to ensure that the workplace is compliant with labor and workplace laws and to act as the face of upper management. No matter what, HR DOES NOT have your back.

@@fcosta94 love how she talks about a reason for putting someone on a PIP is for failing to live out an organization's core values. How many times does Management (aka the "organization") fail to live out their own core values? The frequently back stab and do what ever they have to do to get ahead and git rid of people (often many who have been at an org for years). Fuck corporate!

She proves my point about seeing someone with a SHRM in her credentials. Anytime you work with someone with a SHRM you're either going to get fired/laid off or you're going to get screwed out of a job in the early stages of an interview.

Its just a paper trail to cover the ash of company HR if the victim makes any legal claim when fired. Act accordingly.

1. Listen to the bullshit. 2. Say you need 24 hours to look over it. 3. Remove all personal files and evidence of your contributions (so that you can share the latter in a public portfolio) from the companies equipment. 4. Leave the equipment on site. 5. Walk off the job.
